Home hosted Minecraft server has issues...

I don't know if this is the motherboard's fault or the power supply's fault. My computer is pretty unstable and randomly locks up. This program that came with the motherboard logs what happens to it and it has these results:

I know for a fact that the mobo temps are messed up. It isn't common for the temperatures to hang at 128 degrees Celsius. This is for the SYSTIN, AUXTIN and CPUTIN, which keeps disappearing and coming back up again.

Also my computer gets the blue screen 0x00000124 (hardware failure) every once in a while, but this isn't as common as the computer lockup, which can go anywhere from once a week to not being able to stay booted for longer than 20 seconds without locking up again. The lockups are extremely unpredictable and I haven't been able to replicate them. I ran Memtest86 extensively, and all 3 of prime95's tests for about 16 hours each, but they didn't catch any problems, other than extremely odd motherboard temperatures (-60 degrees Celsius and 128 degrees Celsius).

I am not overclocking this machine whatsoever. The power supply is a Cooler Master GX 750 Watt. It can be found here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... _-17171053

The temperatures have been extremely high on 2 of the 3 programs (CPUID HW monitor and the monitor that came with the motherboard both said that the temps were super high, speccy only reached up to 68 degrees Celsius).

Could be the motherboard or the power supply. Get a multimeter and check the voltages of your power supply yourself, not as easy as it sounds, but you could totally unplug all the power cables and short the two "turn on" pins together to turn the CPU on and check the main voltages that way. Or perhaps you can easily get access to the pins while they're plugged into the computer, that way you can measure the voltages while the computer is loading them. You could also get a cheapish power supply and swap it for the one you have now and see if it still locks up, if it does it's your board, if not it was your power supply.

Thank you for that response, but I was able to fix it. It was the motherboard. You see it had this option in the bios to change the voltages to save power and whatnot. Wtf motherboard. It was triggering its own warnings. However, even though the odd voltages went away, the computer did not stabilize what so ever. I turned off all but one cpu core, and I've never seen the computer run this stable. I don't know if that's still a mobo or a cpu problem. I'm guessing its a motherboard problem because bad cpus are extremely rare. Also I ran the cpu under extensive (about 32 hours) of stress testing.

My only concern is that it's Sandy Bridge, if it's an early sandy bridge I know there were some problems with it and SATA I think, not sure whether reducing it to one core helped or not with that, find someone that is good with computers and ask them. You should look and see if anyone else is having the same problems, if they are someone might have a workaround other than reducing to 1 core. Can you reduce it to two cores and still run?

Nope. The computer only runs stable with one core.

I'm not sure if this is completely true, but the computer only seems to crash if it idles for too long. This is because it only seemed to crash in the middle of the night, or sometime between 6:00 am and 2:10 Pm. Both of those times are periods of no activity for me (I'm either sleeping or at school). I have the computer set so it never goes into standby mode (what kind of server would that be?).

Also the cpu seems fine and doesn't seem to have an problems like this. It's reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... llFullInfo are pretty solid, and the only cons are the heatsink and the ability to overclock, and I'm using a 3rd party heatsink and I'm not overclocking anyways.
