Job Interview

Unread post by Hanzo_blade »

I don't know about you but I get SHIT NERVOUS at job interviews. I have one tomorrow at a movie theatre place and I badly want to work here. I need tips on how and what to answer to questions....

Any commonly asked questions that you come across and have good answers to? I am trying to prepare to a simple question "Tell me about yourself..." And I really dont know how much or what exactly to say. so nervous >.<!

Just relax, be polite and answer honestly. I know when I was interviewed for my theatre job they asked me questions about how often I am at the movies and what recent releases there were and who was in it. Again just relax and take a few deep breaths, you'll do fine.
Give the hardest job to the laziest person, and they will find the easiest way to do it.

So you got an interview? Awesome! I'm still waiting for my brother to come through....

If they ask where you see yourself in 5 years dont say "doing your wife."

They will find it much less humorous

I am pro at job interviews. Try not to show them you are nervious.

It is important to remember to make eye contact. When you are having a conversation with someone look them directly in the eye. Don't make it akward. If they break eye contact first then you are now in control of the situation. Smile and be polite.

Think of answers to questions that they will ask you. I always get "What are your strengths" and "what are your weaknesses". Strengths are easy: Organized, Motivated, etc. but weaknesses can be a little tougher. You want to choose weaknesses that are strengths. One of my weaknesses is that I tend to take my work home with me and I am obsesive about my code. For a movie job you could say you watch way too many movies or something like that.

Why do you want to work here is a pretty common question. I also get a lot of "what have you been up to" type of questions which is probably more related to what I do than anything else.

I kept getting distracted while I was writing this and lost my train of thought. I'll post more if i think of anything else.
