Highlander season is canceled until further notice if you didn't see, so if you're interested in joining the team for Season 8, feel free to post in this topic. A lot of people seemed interested when I brought it up in the chatbox, so I felt it was necessary to update this thread.

Also, I will be implementing weekly practices again, looking at how rusty we were last season. Maybe Wednesdays and Fridays around 7 or 8 CST. Not entirely sure, don't want to interfere with jobs.

The matches have a schedule deadline of Thursday at midnight, but we went over into Friday a few times last season so there shouldn't be a real problem. Besides, we usually have our matches around 9 or 10 P.M., sometimes 11.

my schedule changes a lot, i'd say given my weekly schedule now plus the non-reliable schedule a 6 or 7.

I'm very serious, we practiced 3 days a week during season 6.

And now that I look at it more, it would probably be better to have our practices late at night on the weekends. Maybe around 10 CST or something. Practices wouldn't last that long, it'd probably just be a scrimmage against regulars.

Twister says he's in for Season 8, I need to talk to Travis ASAP.

I'd join at about a 7. You all know what I can do as a demoman, both defensively and offensively. Since these are late night games, I probably won't make them with my late night baseball games, but those are usually during the school year.

Right now the roster looks like:

GiroTheHero: Soldier
OptimusPrimeRib: Medic/Soldier
Twister: Scout
Tampashrew: Demoman
Spleenter: Medic/Soldier

Yulond wants to play alternative demo this season. You have to be ok with Twister to play as Scout, since I'm letting him pick the other scout to play with him.

Travis won't message me back on Steam, but know that if he wants to play as Medic/Soldier, he gets priority because I know how he plays.

When does the season start and end?

Season 8 doesn't have a defined date yet, but if its anything like last year, signups should be available around September/October. Its entirely possible for signups to be in August and the season to start in September, though.

Another thing to note, communication is key in competitive leagues, where as it isn't really used in most public servers. That being said, go buy a cheap $10~$20 headset (if you're really strapped for cash, just a microphone). Sure, I went through the 6th Season with out a headset (I was also the captain of the team so I was supposed to be in charge), but I had Travis to fall back on since he actually knew what he was doing. That's no excuse though, so I just highly suggest buying a headset/microphone. We don't care what your voice sounds like.

Updated the roster to reflect what it would look like going into Season 8. Still need a scout, you have to talk to Twister, though. Besides that, we always need alternative players in case someone doesn't show.

Talked to Travis, he said he wasn't sure if he would be able to play, which I translate to "I'm too busy playing Quake Live, let me think about it." He did say he would coach whoever our medic is for this season.

I say "whoever" because I'm still not sure if I want Spleenter to play Soldier instead of Medic this season, since that's what I've been seeing him play lately. If he were to say sure, then I'd see if Black Kero would be interested in the spot, since she said she preferred to play Medic over Scout.

Also, just to get my point across, buy a cheap headset/microphone. You will be immensely more helpful, trust me.

Scout: Twister

Soldier: GiroTheHero
Soldier: Optimus Prime Rib
Demoman: Tampashrew
Medic: Black Kero

Spleenter doesn't care what he plays, since he'll get his job back by the time the season starts and Yulond still wants to be an alternative demoman. Still need a scout~

Ill gladly try out for scout,Although.I'd like to know when this is starting,I have school next monday, And chances are that i'll be busy as hell. I'm too lazy to look around me and find out about this stuff. Also,Twister isn't in my friends list and I haven't seen the guy for months now. Where can I get a hold of him?

I'm not exactly planning to get a mic,But I'm not much of a talker anyways when it comes to all out srsbsns and nothing else. I type extremely fast anyways, It's up to you guys if you can deal with it.

People who want to be on the team, even as backups, should make an account on the Cevo website [Remember to enter your Steam ID under My Account -> Manage Unique IDs], and go to Join A Roster, search for calculatedChaos under Team Fortress 2 Season 8 event, and hit Join. the password to join is "calcC".

Season will start the week of September 11th with a preseason match most likely, maps and weapon bans are not confirmed yet.
