Going to listen to country music.

So I'm going to start to listen to country music, don't know why but I am.
I was wonder if there were any songs that you guys would recomend that you like or your favorites.
You can post the music video here or just the name and good artist.

Thats fine, I wasn't a big fan of it either but I like trying new things.

Two things

It's spelled dyslectic (from dyslexia, and btw I just corrected you while drunk)

I am drunk, and country music is best listened to while drunk.

I love most all music, I think a good start for modern country would be Keny Chesney, people seem to like him, as far as classic country you should start with a a crossover artist like Johnny Cash.

Yeah, but Johnny Cash isn't Country. I don't care who says he is. Johnny Cash is like the original outlaw rock'n'roller and didn't even know it.

I've never heard anyone say they were going to 'try country'.

I'm all for expanding horizons and all that but you gotta draw a line somewhere. LOL

Just joking, if it works for you (please come back to us someday though).

I like some Bluegrass. Leftover Salmon is polyethnic slamgrass, fun band, often refered to as the Widespread of the leftcoast (even though they are from Boulder, Co.).
String Cheese Incident, Yonder Mountain String Band. Forget country, give bluegrass a try instead.

BTW, its a well known fact that Country music is the leading 'cause of Narwhal deaths in the world right now. So by supporting country music you support Narwhal extinction, and that makes me very sad. The song ' Devil went down to georgia and he had a Narwhal tusk to steal....' pretty much lays it out.

Modern country music is mostly a lot of what I call "soft rock with an accent." There is a lot of crap out there, but that goes for most genres. There are however a lot of jems in country music that pople who don't listen to it might really like if they just give it a chance. I am a music lover, I don't subscribe to any one type and I like to keep myself open. Here is a really good example of something that a lot of people might not give a second thought. The term heavy metal came from two bands, Led Zepplin and Iron Maiden. Here is one of the iconic members of the former singing with as iconic country music singer, and creating something that is amazing.

I dont know Plastic, maybe you are thinking of a different song. Not that those lyrics are bad, they'd probably make a very good country song that many people would like regardless of the genre.
Who knows, maybe someone like Charlie Daniels would cover it.
