Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
The fucking irony of this post. I can't handle it.PhrozenFlame wrote: And yeah, Skullgirls, drop money on it, whatev.
So yeah, the skullgirls indiegogo campaign ended with a whopping $829,829. This means the game is getting practically a whole new game's worth of content with 5 characters (2 of them being put up to a vote by donators), 7 stages, and 9 voice packs. There is also a pc and linux port coming for the game. This makes it the first PC fighter with any sort of decent netcode and the only fighter that I'm aware of that will have native linux support.
But more importantly it means this thread might have a reason to exist after 2 fucking years.
So skullgirls, any one hyped for it's newest form? Who do you want to see added into the game for DLC? Anyone wanna pick it up with me when it drops? Will Kerp ever realize that nobody on cC cares about fighting games?

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
I'd buy this shit immediately if I wasn't so godawful at fighting games. Every single 2D fighter I've ever played, I can barely handle arcade mode, let alone another actual human being.
But yeah, that game looks kickass and I would totally buy it.

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
Skullgirls actually has a really indepth tutorial mode which I think they're expanding upon in the later versions. It really gets you used to the lingo and what you're expected to know.
That, and I'm more than willing to teach people how to play when the game drops.

I put up $57 in the indiegogo, so yes, I will be playing Skullgirls when it comes to pc.
I plan on using either my N64 or Gamecube controller for it.

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
There was no irony. I was always going to get it on PC, because I'm a keyboard warrior.
Life is whatever.
Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
Skullgirls is harder to get the hang of than P4A, but Skullgirls is a lot more fun because of that.
Too bad I can't win a single fight in network matches for SG.
1. Annie
2. Isaac
3. Stanley
4. Umbrella
5. Beowulf

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
There's no real point in voting for Umbrella since she's probably gonna be the 1st character made as soon as Lab Zero can pay their own wages and Annie probably wouldn't be far behind. That said:
1) Isaac
2) Feng
3) Venus
4) Eliza
5) Beatrix
Not controversal choices but Isaacs gameplay sounds awesome, Feng is probably gonna play like SFIII makoto on steriods, and I love cleaver zoning mechanics (which this game kinda lacks) that the last 3 will probably have.

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
The Minette hate gifs are outweighed only by salty Umbrella pictures.
Honestly at this point I'd be fine with anyone in top 8 getting in, leaning towards Isaac, Eliza and Annie though.
Oh and much pubilc love to Uncle Denzo for buying me the mad salt shirt. It didn't even cost $100.

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
Damn, I should've gotten that Salty Umbrella shirt.
To be honest, for the second vote all I care for at this point is Umbrella. Mainly because I realized that even if she would be worked on right after Robo fortune/Eliza, I'd have to wait for what? 1-2 years?

Oh god I still have a chance...Too bad I don't have a credit card. Well, there's always amazon gift cards. I just gotta find one now.

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
And the 4th DLC Chaeacter is Beowulf. Can't say I'm happy with this result, but I am glad that it wasn't some of the other characters.
Indeed.

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
The devolpers are really fucking adament about how Beowulf's gameplay has nothing to do with Kanji. I'm pretty sure that the similarities will stop once we see actual gameplay._Pipeline wrote:Suddenly and only now do I realize the Kanji in all this.

Re: Thread with a clever name relating to fighting games
We interupt this skullgirls thread to bring you fucking Guilty Gear.
AKA the game that put Ark system works on the map. AKA the game Blazblue was trying to be. AKA the brain child of my game designer waifu Daisuke Ishiwatari. AKA the game that invented hype ass combos. AKA the game I would've made if I had infinite money and talent when I was 16.
It's got dust combos.
It's got swords.
It's got thrash metal.
It's got a dumb name.
It's got belts.
It's fucking Guilty Gear.

Dumb name? Guilty Gear sounds like the most hilarious thing ever to exist.
