What do you do with a BA in English?
Well, technically I'll have a BS in psychology (with a major still in english!), but the question remains the same (and gives me the excuse to reference Avenue Q).
Anyway, after this summer I won't have my steady lab job of going to the ghetto for developmental psychology research anymore. So, I'm trying to generate ideas for a job and am hoping to see if anyone has made it through their first years post college with any helpful advice/encouragement to offer!

I was planning on doing that down the line actually. Some of my professors here have such a sweet deal, aside from dealing with those students who don't take shit seriously. Thanks for your idea!Kriegsmarine wrote:Get a teaching job

It was more like, "geeze, I wonder if anyone else has gone through this situation and if they have anything to say about it and I bet that might be amusing to hear."BAMF wrote:are you really looking for people to tell you what to do with your life on a forum about team fortress two

Wouldn't be the first time someone's asked for serious help on the forums. People still remember that Rudedog topic, right?BAMF wrote:are you really looking for people to tell you what to do with your life on a forum about team fortress two
I still refuse to understand why "seep" is a funny word.
Life is whatever.

I don't remember the rudedog topic at all.

Seep could refer to anything, like semen seeped out while he was sleeping, in that context it could be funny. Could.
Try getting a paper round to start with? Or perhaps go look on a jobs website and see if there is anything that takes your fancy that you can do?captainangry wrote:Freedom isn't free

Maybe find an internship/entry-level position at a publication company? I bet English degrees would be welcomed in that sort of industry.

Well thanks everyone for the advice! It is much appreciated and though waving my degree in potential employer's faces might not be the magic aid it once was, I'm fairly confident I'll be able to find something that can put me through a master's degree (but that's a whole 'nother story).
