It's official, we are now an LLC (Limited Liability Company).

So what does that mean? Personally for me it means that I can conduct business for calculatedChaos that I am not personally liable for. For instance, if someone decided to sue me for something that someone on the server did since I run the server, the suit goes against the company and not me personally.

It also gives me the ability to deduct business expenses, such as photoshop and other software, server space and other hardware, a better internet connection to stream the servers on the internet etc. if I can justify it as a legitimate business expense.

None of this really matters to any of you guys short term but could benefit everyone in the long term. One thing that I am looking at now is other streams of revenue. Obviously more money would mean more stuff for the community (servers for different games, prizes, etc). I have always shied away from this stuff because most systems that generate revenue like that require some kind of tax id in order to receive payment and I didn't really want to pay taxes on the income when it would just go right back out to the community. Now that I have a federal tax id for the company, I can directly deduct expenses from any income from those services and not have to pay anything out of pocket.

In any case, I am looking at integrating an arcade into the forum. The arcade allows ads to be posted on the games themselves and then shares revenue between the creators of the games and the people that host the games (us). I am in the beginning stages of getting it all working but if any of you folks want to help me, you could play a few rounds of 'Tower Defense' on my sandbox site: http://captainangry.com/arcade/warzone- ... -extended/

Everyone who uses our server is a customer...

And you can buy photoshop with our business expenses?

FYI, with 19 ad impressions for that one game we have already earned $.04. I will be able to have thousands of games (although I refuse to post terrible games) and should be able to get high scores that are unique to our site.

This definitely has some potential. Also, I would imagine clicking on the ads would help but I'm not entirely sure that matters.

The only problem I know of with the collage level one, at least if it's the same as my art school friends had, is that it is a two year license. That means you have to have an internet connection in order to start it up and then after two years it doesn't work any more.

Don't worry about making an account on there. That's just a test site I made to work some stuff out.

I plan on making it work with the forum accounts once I move it over to this site.

We really need a VIP type donator bonus, and a semi-frequent nag to get VIP in the TF2 chat. Some of the people on the funserver would pay through the nose to custom hats/skins in the server. Who knows, maybe the server could pay for itself one day and we could get an extra specialty server like zf, vsh, or an rpg server (which rakes in buckets of cash).

Not to bring this server up again, but on Axl's server, during setup time, they get a sprite above their heads (like the dominating one) that says "axl's donator." They are also immune to any form of damage in humilation mode - something that does not affect any real gameplay.

That was on DOA not here. however when flamin put /equip on the funserver it royally fucked over the server for almost a week.
