I'm banned, ok but why?

Like the title of this topic says, i just want to know why (for now). I have been banned from the team fortress 2 fun server the 04/03/2010 at 21:50 (french timezone). I see no reason for this ban but mostly who,why and for how long?

Any ban on the fun server deserves an unban. Unless you only ban for 10 minutes, what's the point?

yeah i should probably give a reason, well i was yellling into the mic, no scouts, demos, or soldiers on votetest, regardless of weapon, no acceptions. or ban for a week. he looked right at me did the little no head shake, and keep right ahead with scout, and he was cheating, so i banned him for a week. and it was the 4th time i addressed HIM personally.

Cheating legitimate, but sheer idiocy to ban because "he wasn't doing as I told him to". But that's just my two cents.

The way you typed out your explanation post was that you were going to ban him for not turning into the character you wanted him to ALONG WITH his cheating. The cheating part is understandable, but banning because you wanted to change class is not.

you just must not know, the map, if you've played on it, you'll see that demos, scouts, and solders can cheat on it, so i told him to switch, i thought that if anyone was going to say anything they would have a little before hand knowledge of the map. you have to be a certain class to cheat, since it is melee, so telling him to change classes and telling him not to cheat are the same thing, at least know about the map next time noodle.

The class on the map has no bearing on whether or not they cheat. Just because they stayed a class didn't mean they cheat, I'm guessing it is more of an exploit more than a cheat anyway. (It's the fun server for Christ's sake, what is cheating there and who cares).

And from what you are saying it sounds like they only had the potential to "cheat" rather than actually cheating. So for that reason, you had no reason to ban just for a class. If they did exploit, then sure.

noodle, your never on the funserver, the way i go about handling that map is a ban anyone for a week who is a solder demo or scout because they have the potential to cheat, i warned them all before hand, what an admin says goes, i warned everybody and him personally, the fact is he did do an exploit, and he disobeyed my direct instructions, for him to quit being a dumbass and using exploits, thats all so stop making such a big deal out of nothing.

I used to be on all the time until the influx of 4Chan-esque, furries, griefers, admin abusers, and overall idiocy. I do play in there on occasion and am reminded every time why I stopped the previous time.

Potential means nothing and being banned for "potential" to do something is idiotic, regardless if you warned someone. Ban for actually going through the process of exploiting/cheating.
But since this person actually did exploit, he should have the week ban.

But of course, because I don't play(often) on that Godawful excuse for server I am completely ignorant and should have no say in how things work :/

Edit 2: Think I'm going to try and stay quiet rather than try to have any kind of discussion from now on. Too hard to get points across to people without it blowing up in your face :/

Stop trying to argue if you are going to bring up dumb comparisons like that.
