Sea levels rising would not point to global warming, but in fact the opposite. Global warming would cause the ice caps to melt, but ice is composed of both air and water. In fact, when ice melts it makes the water level go down.

At first, I thought… what a bunch or morons, the world is not “warming” where are they getting this sh*t? Then I realize the brilliance of the scheme. Hype everybody up into believing that the world is gonna end because of manufacturing and automobiles, then come out with “Cap & Trade” A program where existing industries continue to do what they have been doing their whole existence, except that they have to buy “Carbon Credits” from Al Gore, who is already posed to “Monitor Compliance” – all while cashing the hefty checks the industries spend for their operating license.
So, basically – Global warming, something which does not exist, is needed to justify Cap & Trade, a tax which will be used to fund a complex regulatory system, which will be presided over by Al Gore and a bowl of far left fruit loops who are already in position to manage the monies generated from the licensing.

This is BRILLIANT!! I wish I thought of it! Now I know why Mr. Al Gore’s 21 car garage is both heated and air conditioned!

In the interest of keeping this post brief, I’ll skip my rants on the world ending in 2012 because it already ended at 0001 Hrs, 01 January 2000 because of the Y2K bug. – Then there was the Hale Bopp Comet – then the time the planets were all in a straight line... The list of Doomsdays is long, but seemingly the only commonality is that it never happens.

BTW>>> After the Blizzard of 1978, the TV was abuzz about how we were entering a “Second Ice Age”. That didn’t happen either.

Global warming? Seriously guys, watch futurama. We just have to drop a giant ice cube in the ocean.

Two things about global warming:

One:
It’s called GLOBAL warming. Here is the US, we have had a very mild summer compared to the previous few years. One nice summer in the along the east coast of the United States does not mean global warming isn’t happening. Just before our nice summer, Australia had one of its hottest summers on record. Again, it’s called GLOBAL warming. There is absolutely no doubt that the earth has been warming the past few decades.

The controversy is about what is causing the warming. Is it a man-made problem that we can fix or is it just part of a normal cycle that the earth is going through?

Two:
Anybody who says global warming will not lead to a rising sea levels, is not thinking about the entire problem. It is true that if you place an ice cube in a glass of water, the water level in the glass will go down as the ice melts. That is because ice is less dense than water, which is why ice floats.

However, underneath all that miles of ice on top of Greenland and Antarctica is land. That ice isn’t floating in the ocean. So, when that ice melts, all that water will flow to the ocean and that is what will raise the sea levels.
Divine Fate wrote:Sea levels rising would not point to global warming, but in fact the opposite.
Wrong, global warming will lead rising sea levels.

there will be NO zombies. no. it's not gonna happen
Dammit.

After I realized that L4D was so fail I was gonna just get it over with and off myself.

Then I heard of the 2012 zombpocolypse and figured 'what the hell, I can deal with a few more crappy years if I getta kill zombies in real life.'
I mean really, what would be cooler than that? Nothing.
SO I bought sum guns and been getting pissed and shootin shit to practice up.

Now you say there is gonna be NO Zombpololypse. And you obviously sound like you know what yer talkin 'bout. So what the hell should I do, I guess it's time to end the misery...

You guys probably won't see me around much after next week (That's when my KFC double chicken - No bread sandvich coupons will run out).

Nice knowin yall.
This would be worth money if you had it in writing

captainangry wrote:Global warming is a scam, at least a little bit. Fearmongering is the best way to get people to listen to you. Eventually, if enough people belive something, people accept it as a fact.

The truth is that the climate is getting warmer and it is killing things. People just don't relize that just because we have a written history doesn't mean that things like the climate aren't going to change. Species have an impact where they live and organizims adapt to survive in that new environment. Thats how shit works.

The best 2012 theory I have heard was based on the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar is all based on astrological events and planet alignments. That culture was so ahead of its time that the actually killed itself out of existance because the place they lived could no longer support them.

Anyway, what some people belive is that at the end of their calender, the axis of the earth will shift causing everything to get fucked up in a matter of hours. The seas will want to be in different places, time will be messed up, it will be hot where it is cold now, etc. It probably won't happen but you can rest assured, if it did happen you might as well be playing video games because there wouldn't be anything you could do about it.
But then all the good servers would be fucked. D:

Just because someone is a regular doesn't mean they know what the fuck they're talking about, and if someone is wrong it doesn't matter how much his friends don't like someone setting him straight, he's still wrong.

Let’s look at this from the most “liberal” point of view…

For every politician and secular progressive media outlet you find supporting the “World is going to melt tomorrow” unless we UNILATERALLY tax AMERICAN (and ONLY American) businesses today, we find many scientist who conclude that the data presented by these persons with an agenda, does not support their doomsday theory. It is most certainly NOT a question of being man made or natural, but a question of…Is it is happening at all? – I guess I need to stop relying on my first hand observations about the world I live on.
But let’s get back to the agenda I mentioned earlier; just what is “the answer” that the people who claim to have the solution to stopping the polar ice cap from melting? Why, sending hefty checks to Al Gore of course! - And, we have to do this because the rest of the world (who will not be paying Cap & Trade taxes) are all for America doing this! (Gee, I wonder if it would boost their economy…. Ya think? --What about ours?)

Bottom line is that there is ZERO tangible evidence to support any proof of global warming, but there is a boatload of people posed to rake in a vast fortune if these laws are enacted. Now, are these people altruist or opportunist? Well, look no further than Al Gore’s 21 car climate controlled garage outside his multimillion dollar mansion, a home that consumes more than 20 times more electricity than the average Americans home does, to get that answer. Can you say – “Hypocrite”?

But alas, I don’t know “what the fuck” I’m talking about, so I’ll withdraw from this topic in the interest of the preservation of the peace on a friendly server and bid an appropriate Welcome to Mr. Tulip.

OUT.

Not that John is going to read this but, even George W. Bush admitted that global warming is real. Global warming isn’t about ideology, politics or opinion. It’s just a fact. If you go here, http://lwf.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/res ... g3/na.html, you can view the average temperature of the US over the past hundred years or so. You can also look a specific regions and states. Some years are warmer, some are colder, but the trend is upward. I would have like to have found something for the entire globe, but I don't have time.

Those of you from the SM days will probably recognize my avatar. In SM and RATZ I was known as Mr. Pin.

It used to be that global cooling was the big thing, things change and now we think it's getting warmer. Will it end up affecting any of us in our lifetime? Not anymore than it already has. Chances are that in the next fifty years (if the world doesn't end in 2012, that is ;)), some other pattern is going to come up and everybody is going to complain and panic about it.

First of all, no one hear is talking about laws. In fact, we're not REALLY even talking about global warming, since even worst-case-scenario it's not going to make the world uninhabitable in 3 years. You can go back to watching your Rush Limbaugh and Fox News now :)
