Re: Civ V
Pffff Civ 5 is no better then Civ 4, just diffrent in many ways.
Btw, the reason I comment is because Stalker, KIA, Burning and myself have all been playing this together if anyone else wanted in on our occasional game.

Just to let you guys know d2d is having a sale right now, select games each day and each week, and you can apply a promo code to get $5 off $5. I picked up several games for a $1. If you like strategy games, not like starcraft but actual strategy, then I'd suggest picking up Aresenal of Democracy fo...

Re: Gaming Backlog
The comparison seems pretty superficial except for the novus and terrin ones because both their play stiles revolved around being dynamic. Their all unique races in the game because of their wildly diffrent playing styles. One concept I aboslutly loved in the game was the novus transport through the...

Re: Gaming Backlog
Universe is not my cup of tea for startegy games, few mass market ones are, but for what it was it was pretty impressive, the races were more unique then the often toted starcraft races, but just as finely balanced. The campaign starts off fairly nice, but bogs down by the third arc I though, I neve...

Re: Boreas' Musings: The MMO Scene
If anyone was planning on picking up DC Universe Online, you can get a pre-order for it from gogamer over the weekend for 39.90 plus $3 shipping. So its about 7 cheaper then the normal, dunno if any better deals are going to come along.

Re: Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
Lord of the Rings Online just went free to play today, and D2D is having a sale where you can buy a month VIP pass plus 1000 turbine points for $5, plus if you get 10 dollars more worth of stuff you can use the code PAX to get $5 off. Just a heads up.

I never said anyone was morally lesser then I, well mabye hardblush, if your attempting attack my postition with just words, I would suggest the word "maturity". I suppose in context I could understand moral superiority if I viewed griefing as perhaps bad morally, and I suppose I do, but m...

Re: Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
Perhaps I was unclear, so I'll forgive your misunderstanding. DDO you don't have all the quest unlocked, however you can use turbine points to unlock more by doing the quest you have. For example, in this starting village there are three quest directly in the village that you can play for free (and ...

Re: Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
While I don't have the witty ugh of Riftoff, I do have some thoughts about LoTR Online. Assuming Turbine does the same thing, or similar, to the same thing they did with Dungeons and Dragons Online then the whole game will actually be kinda of like a unlockable. In DDO you can get turbine points for...

Re: Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
Well I'm playing Dungeons and Dragons Online right now, Doghouse supposly has it as well. Free to play and its quite well done. That being said, it looks like a fair amount of us are going to pick up Lord of the Rings Online in about ~20 days. BTW I call the loremaster class for our little group.

Re: Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
Yeah this is pretty much how it goes, I didn't know how many DFO people we had hanging around. Though you guys are kinda of missing the point, I wanted to get into a mmo to explore and experince with people, not already have them all be gods to my character basically. Plus, after playing it the tech...

Re: Boreas' Musings: The MMO Scene
Well I'm intrested in all three, but as I said DC Universe is my sentimental favorite. Plus its actually coming out very soon. I won't buy it right away, I'll wait and see what the reviewers say about it and decide if its worth buying or not. Unless I get into some kinda beta, then I'll make up my o...

Boreas' Musings: The MMO Scene
The MMO scene has become increasingly crowded its a wonder that publishers keep making games for it. First there is the 800 pound gorilla in the room called World of Warcraft. Then there a myriad little insect like bites coming from the micro transaction free to play MMOs. So can a game company even...

Re: Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
Well I sat down with Dungeon Fighter Online and played through the tutorial bit, and I have to admit its intresting, my original concern over the technology it is built on is still valid however. Still I think its intresting enough to give it a spin, so like I said let me know when you want to play ...

Re: Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
Well I'm in the process of patching Dungeon Figher Online, but I'm skeptical about this game as a actually "mmo" or mmo flavored wrapper. Second, I'm also leary of game build on mechanics from the dark of ages of collision detection. Don't get me wrong I love golden axe, and the Xmen Arcad...

Looking For Group for other(s) Free MMO(s) Thread
Hey I was wondering if anyone is, unlikely, or is possibly planning to start playing any of the free mmo's, or at least not subscription fee, like D&&D Online, EQ II, LotR (Later this year), Guild Wars or host of other micro transaction MMOs? I know captain was thinking of starting up Guild ...

+1 what Agent said.
Department "is anti mainserver" quick light the fire, get the stake! Kidding. I really don't have to look for reasons to hate the fun server, they just kinda fall into my lap, there just so overwhelming.

Re: World Of Warcraft: 15 Million People Can't Be Wrong
Okay read all my post before you comment about my last one. As per PvP, again I point out I'm fine with rewards, but I'm more intrested in the fact that your playing LIVE humans not VERY dumb mobs (that goes for all MMOs), WoWs PvP system however is very tacked on, well because it was largely. Every...

Re: World Of Warcraft: 15 Million People Can't Be Wrong
Your Peeves appear to be mounting there Montag. Error does not compute, mmos don't have to be about JUST collecting things, many of my favorite mmos have had strong emphesis on PvP. Think of TF2 (since everyone here knows the game)......okay before the drops.... you got onto play a game, the only re...
