CODMW2 cant start

i am now supa pissed i keep starting up call of duty modern warfare 2 but everytime i start it i keep getting the same exact shit direct x found an unrecoverable error please check readme for solutions when i read that i tried all over the web looking for answers the things ive down right now is install direct x 9.0 but still same thing gets the same error my computer is a windows xp please help me

Updating your graphics drivers can help tremendously whenever you get an error such as this. The game might have been corrupted when installing, so try to see if reinstalling your game works, too.

can u send me like a link to upgrade drives? and ill try to reinstall the game after i try installing the drives and it doesnt work

The drivers depend on what graphics card you have, first verify which one you have, then visit that company's site to find the drivers specific to your card.
NVIDIA Cards
AMD/Radeon Cards
Any other type of card driver can be found from their respective web sites, I just put these two links to get you started.

Not if:
A)They don't have Xbox Online.(like me)
or
B)They use wireless internet and their modem is downstairs while the Xbox is upstairs.(Also like me)

A) Buy Xbox Live.
B) An Xbox wireless adapter can travel through an entire house.

A)I'm currently building a home PC and the parts combined cost ~$5000.

A) buy xbox live (previously said)
B) run a 50ft ethernet cord up to your room (like me)
they only cost around 80$
i got mine for free from the internet installer.
