Don't just scramble the fucking teams because you feel like it morons. You put that shit to a vote.

Kerplunkers, as much as this is a rant, this is a serious issue of abuse. Sometimes majorly stacked teams are a problem, scramble them after ROUND END. Vote after ROUND END. Plus, you can never see who issued the scramble, so any random member can go and feel like their team sucked and scramble the teams. No.

Well we could remove it from us lesser admins. I don't think it should ever be instant scramble anyways.

WTF man. I hadn't played avanti in a while and was thinking, hey, this should be fun. I start on blue team and we did very well. Then I'm thinking, oh yeah time to play defense. Then BAM, out of nowhere the teams are scrambled and I'm back on blue. So by the time I can get back on red team so I can defend, the team basically just gave up on the first point, and as I spawn the second point is being taken. I have not been so mad playing TF2 that I can remember. If you don't like it, quit, that's what I do. Don't just force a scramble because you feel like it, especially when both teams have not had a chance to play both sides of the map. That was not cool.

At times insta-scramble is needed, it is just abused too much at the wrong times. /votescramble ftw

vote scramble should be like 60% / 40%

only if you go by percentage of voters. Not everyone votes when a vote pops up. Further, your % would require 20% of the team steamrolling the other team to not want to scramble. Generally, people like steamrolling the other team.

The vote never works. This isn't really a rant. Sometimes the decision has to be made to scramble the teams, weather people like it or not. If it's an issue, i'll just remove the ability to scramble and tweak the vote percentage needed. I'll try and take care of this tomorrow night when I have everything back on track from my vacation.

Okay, I know scramble is necessary but most of the times it's being abused and it's ridiculous. It's like red team wins barely on a control point map that was going back and forth the entire round. Then someone is like teams are stacked *scramble*. It's getting completely out of hand. If the teams were completely even in skill and everything do you know what happens? Stalemate.

Valve should update the other game modes like they did for arena and detect when there is a stacked team.

Anyway, I think the key will be to fix the scramble vote so that anyone can do it and it will pass when it needs to.

When I said 60 40 maybe that came out backwards.
I meant 40% only should be required to scramble.

All I'm Getting Form this Thread is that Everyone Just Freaking Wins At Life seening A Group Of People Can Steamroll Good Enough to Freaking Rape Another Team...It would be Worst if we Did Clan Matches...The Cc Force Would Be Unbearable...

Warmonger and I were talking and we came up with the idea of forcing a random team selection all the time so that people can't stack teams. I have a feeling this wouldn't go over too well but it is something I might be willing to try in the near future.

I always join random anyway, so it wouldn't bother me if it chose random between maps.

However it would suck if it randomed every round within a map. I like to attack then defend or vice-versa. Doing one for 2 rounds sucks.

Would that prevent someone from going spec when they had to run to the bathroom etc?

I would probably have to make my own sourcemod plugin but the one I saw for CS:S skipped the MOTD page and assigned you to a random team right away when you joined. You could still go to spec and then probably stack the teams anyway but it might help curb the issue. If there is a way around it i'm sure people would just use that to their advantage.

IDK, I guess i'll just keep joining the unstacked team with warmonger.

Usually I join random, but I like having the choice to defend or attack on some maps.

I think it's not as much of an issue here because you guys don't seem uber-competitive. If you were, you wouldn't be playing maps half the people didn't know (which is probably more of the problem than intentional teamstacking).

Agreed, most of the time the map is unbalanced rather than the teams.

Angry, you're going to waste your time to create/find a plugin that "fixes" a nonissue, and then you say that it wouldn't stop people with actual malicious teamstacking intent, and would undo the work awesome, blue, and others put into the motd pictures. Not to mention random isn't infallible and will make unbalanced teams fairly often. I believe that many of our members and regulars will try to balance teams by switching to the other team just on honor.

I wouldn't have implimented it if I had to skip the MOTD page.

The worst is after we play on a valve map. It's good to get some new blood into the mix but the majority of the people that join during a valve map are terrible.

Warmonger mentioned that the teams could just scramble on the first round start. That would probably be easy to impliment but I don't think it would solve the issue since usually there are a bunch of people still in spec from joining a new map when the first round starts.

I like the honor idea. I change to the losing team fairly often and if even a few of us made an effort to keep the teams balanced we could probably make a difference.
