You cannot travel backwards in time (unless you are a theoretical partical, and still then only for a period of time so short that it cannot even be measured). TIME does not exist execpt as a concept for measuring the movement of matter and energy through space. That is why they call it spacetime and why the faster you are traveling the slower time progresses and why gravity can effect the progression of time. ANY physicist that starts talking about time travel as if it is a possibility is not just a quack, but a total freaking idiot. If anyone ever travels back in time like in works of fiction I will eat a bowl of shit. No offense intended

They weren't proving it possible. They just announced it cannot be proved impossible with physics and math.

I'm sorry, but the mention of time travel get's me emotional. It's not just improbable, it's unfathomable in that the level of energy and math that would be nessesary to move every object in the entire Universe to where it was at even a second ago would make your head explode. I mean OMG, imagine trying to move a supernova or even a doughnut shaped black hole, OMG!

There is also this thing called a barrier. Humans can NOT discover time travel for two main reasons: There is someone out there who obviously doesn't want you to travel through time (tower of babel, anyone?), and the clear facts of the matter which are that time doesn't even exist. It is a measuring tool, man-made, and that is all it is.

Word to your mother Divine, I think I said that previously about time not existing however I think that most people find it difficult to understand. Also I usually only consider the metaphysical stuff last and what you said opens a whole other door of discussion involving paradoxes, spirituality and junk I don't even want to touch.

i would just like to point out that even if time travel was possible we wouldn't have to worry about it. my guess is that if time travel happened it would create an alternate universe each time you time traveled and that person would be stuck in that universe. there for, we has no worries

Or if they went back in time it would have already happened, so it wouldn't ruin anything either.

or if they went back and changed something, we would never know because we would think it was what always happened.
