About 2:30 in the morning, some guys couldn't stop talking so I muted them at first... (btw I muted dracozilla and rudedog at first but I unmuted later.. mostly because it was funny) But later there was a guy named Rise^a whom I muted for excessive talking (2:30 in the morning, mind you) and his pal PumPin who turned out to be his buddy, which was obvious since they were doing nothing but Heavy + Medic combos on a 4v4 arena... Well I banned Rise^a a little later for what could have been debated as just being really good, but I banned for wall hacking.. I didn't like playing with someone who could shoot a flare in the right direction at the right time or snipe someone in the arena_treehouse in some of the smallest cracks of the entrences.. Then PumPin was next because, obviously, he "lol'd at the admin for being a noob and fucking stupid". So both were banned for a week. If you want to unban them, I don't mind anymore.. I was probably just irritable, though I had the opinion of another person playing next to me at my house, who was watching him just as close and said the same.

good job if 1 was wall hacking for real then yes keep banned. the other not so sure about he did insult an admin which is a bad idea on any server unless u r an admin yourself.

Just wondering, how long did you ban them for? And how long is appropriate for this kind of stiuation(hacking, etc.)?

Depends on the situation. I usually ban everyone for 10 minutes. If someone comes back after 10 minutes and still wants to cause trouble then they get a perma ban.

2:30 IN THE MORNING, MIND YOU! lol. I figure, there are "over 9000" players out there, no one will miss 'em. I doubt I scared off anyone else either, as there were literally only 3 other people on there, including myself and Noodle.

When I have banned people I add a reason, like sm_ban name "Stop being a douche" and I usually only ban them for a short time. I have only ever banned people permanently when they have some sort of creepy porn spray, like the cartoon medic with his junk out, or any furry shit, that stuff is sick.

Sometimes being the only admin on the server with NO voting commands or anything else gets annoying, people ask for votes for melee or low grav and alas i can't do it.

I just redid the admin commands last night. You now have access to 5 votes and melee mode.

No low gravity though. Not until valve fixes the bug of it not going back to normal properly.

There is no melee vote but you guys can start random votes with /vote "question" "option1" "option2". If you just want a yes/no vote you just do /vote "question".
