This has to be said. To all the people playing Left4Dead that don't keep up with the group and keep going off looking at stuff, you are fucking your team over. In every zombie movie that is the guy that always gets killed or gets other people killed. The same works for Left4Dead. You can't go off looking for shit and checking stuff out when you have zombies everywhere trying to kill you. And when you are running around like Leroy Jenkins trying to find another molotov and you get pounced and the other people in your group have to come and save your ass is when the whole team gets killed. And when you want to stand around and talk about shit and not do anything is when the freaking special zombies are spawning up and waiting to kill you. The guy who does that shit, that guy always dies. In every freaking zombie movie there is always that guy and he always fucks things up for everyone. DON'T BE THAT GUY!!!!!

Left4Dead is one of those games that ONE PERSON, one noob, one anybody can ruin the game. I think Plastic understands this and wants to make it clear for all of you so you don't be this guy. Nobody likes the noob that ruins an hour of gameplay for them in 2 seconds.

Maybe they're just leading and you 3 are the ones not staying with the group....

If that's the case, then the so-called "leader" needs to stay with the group. If the rest of the team decides to take their good ol' time or needs to heal, somebody shouldn't go marching off to startle the witch or activate the tank.

You wern't the person that came to my mind when this came up but I don't play L4D very often.

Anyone can be this guy, you just have to pay attention to the rest of your team and what they are doing. And listen to them, if you guys all have full health you don't need to find more health packs. If you are close to the end of the level, spending more time standing around only increases your chances of dying. If all the special zombies have just been killed then you can move up to where you need to go. When you spend any time at all not moving forward, you are losing. There is always enough stuff in your path that you don't need to look for more. The ONLY time you need to look for more stuff is when you know a tank is coming and you need a motolov, even then most of the time you are fighting a PC tank the best thing to do is corner up. I have not played a lot of L4D multiplayer, but it is usually either completely smooth or completely FUBAR, rarely has it been anything inbetween. The tactics for playing seem to be fairly easy to discern afer playing it a few times, so if you just follow those simple tactics then it comes down to skills (like pouncing from a hight or shooting a hunter in mid air). So many people seem to turn their brains off for some reason and that is what gets people killed. It really is just like the movies, when you start doing stupid useless shit you start dying.
