Ok, last night I was looking for a driver update for my sound card and i stumbled upon this (http://www.pcdriverdownloads.com/Driver ... Sound-Card). It's an obvious google ad spam site, but before I hit backspace and went on to search for my drivers, I noticed something in the URL. "driverdetective&brand=Sound-Card" So I decided to experiment.

Very nice, you are starting to learn about URL manipulation. If you get really good at it, you can use it to hack into peoples websites and break all their shit. If you know anything about databases, look into SQL injection. It basically uses URL manipulation to gain access to peoples databases so you can eat all their datas.

ive gotten into a few website's main thing i guess you would call it that.. a white screen with all the files and things from the website in folders.

That's just a directory list. You can't really do anything with that per-say, although being able to see the list of files could be really usefull.
