EDIT: I just noticed that the most messages that the chatbox remembers at one time is 10. It remembers more if you stay on the page, but if you refresh it'll show the last 10 as opposed to the last 50-75 or something like that which it was before. There's probably some setting you can change for it.
I know I know, old post, but still: voting doesn't matter. Cpt is the only one who makes new admins anyway, and even if someone got a billion votes, if cpt didn't like them, they wouldn't become admin.

In my opinion, voting was only a gimmick anyway

My quest to obtain the most downvotes is not a gimmick :|

So it seems like most agree that Tgame and LAN should be helping with the server if they want to. Uploading new maps and shit. Bake can help them learn what they need i think from what he said on the facebook page.

Regestration on the fourms also needs to be fixed

I'd also recommend maybe establishing a few event coordinators to maybe spark some life back into this community but this needs to come after we fix up the forums. No point in attracting new people if we can't let them join.

We have the hearth, we have the firewood, and we have the matches. Literally all we need is someone empowered with enough time to ignite them.

If I learn how to do add maps I'll do it.

I got bored of TF2 years ago which is why I rarely play nowadays. In fact I play there so little and play HL2: Deathmatch much more that I almost considered changing my tag away from cC. However that aside, I'm up for anything be it learning to install maps to doing a decent job as an admin on a regular basis.

Granted there's virtually no chance of me ever getting root or rcon access since a majority of people seem to dislike/hate the fact that I have admin in the first place, but hey until you all decide I shouldn't have it and tell Captain to remove me from the pool, I may as well try and use it for good purposes.

I think the other thing we need to do once we get decent maps is for people to make regular gameplay videos and upload them to the Calculated Chaos YouTube rather than their own (which is what everyone does). For some reason a lot of my replays just won't save so I'd need to record as I'm playing, but I'm sure there are other people in here that can do a better job.

it would be kinda sorta pretty cool to get the youtube going again. i didnt realize that was a thing we could just. upload to. or i wouldve been doing it already.

It was "a thing" for about a month after someone made a new intro for all the videos and decided that we should politely ask people who recorded videos on the cC servers & uploaded them to their own YouTube, to give us the video to upload to the cC YouTube or at least give credit to the servers, or be faced with a copyright violation (that part I'm not 100% sure on so don't quote me on it).

There is a thread about it somewhere in the Announcements, at least I think that's where it is. Needless to say it hasn't been updated for about 2+ years.

Still, fix forums first, fix servers second, fix YouTube once people are happier. It's been waiting for several years, I'm sure it can survive another few months.

Zamboni runs the youtube page, so until someone can get a hold of him and talk to him about this there's nothing we can do.

I couldn't remember who it was that ran it. We can get round to that further down the line since it's not exactly important to fix right now.
