ALRIGHT EVERYONE WHO'S EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT ANY MAP EVER
Its been a while since I posted here but I have an announcement that I'm sure everyone will love.
I have talked to Beetle and we have come to an agreement. If i give him a list of things that you (yes you little cCivilian) would like to see in a map, he will make it.
IT DOESNT EVEN NEED TO BE REASONABLE
SO TELL ME WHAT YA WANT. YOU WANT 17 PRESENTS THAT NEED TO BE COLLECTED BEFORE YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR SPAWN? SURE WHY NOT. YOU WANT IT TO PLAY THE DOCTOR WHO THEME CONSTANTLY? DO IT. YOU WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE ONLY HALF-ZATOICHI? TALK TO FLAMIN ABOUT THAT CAUSE THAT'S SERVER MOD BULLSHIT AND DOESN'T BELONG HERE.
Its gonna be basic First Come (someone says they want it to be koth and someone says ctf after its gonna be koth (UNLESS its something stupid or Beetle says fuck you))
Its also not gonna be MVM for pretty obvious reasons.
DON'T BOTHER BEETLE WITH YOUR IDEAS. POST THEM HERE OR TELL ME OVER STEAM IF YOU MUST Beetle is only willing to make the map because I'm the one finding and writing down what everyone wants.
I think that's all I really have to say here. So get to it!
EDIT: Don't just post stupid stuff in the thread to be the funny guy. actually think about what you say.
(keep in mind anyone can come back to this thread and see what each person added to the map)

Each team has to find 7 gifts hidden throughout the area around there spawn, before they open the door that allows them to teleport to another area with the capture points. Kinda like you have to find the gifts in area 1-1 on dm_mariokart.

2 things
a visable skybox element that is the first level from fez its small but you can see it revolve (even if cheaply) has to be detailed enough to make it out and not 4 pixels on an lcd screen
and a completed cube (not the really big godlike thing but the peices of it) as a prop
that does nothing but be dynamic and be able to move and stuff... like the companion cube in mariokart but better

That's up to the Community. If they want to work together and piggyback off of each others ideas to make a somewhat good map they absolutely can.
I honestly doubt they will and I foresee something between harble and a mariokart map being created out of this mess.

something like this except there are 9 presents per team to get and each challenge is class specific, also buttons to spawn bosses on enemy spawns that re-enable every time you find a present.
and once you get all 9 presents you ride a flying rhinocerous to the cap point

How can it not be, really? Still, the suggestions of those that are just trying to be funny are pretty obvious (and just clutter). and other than being a bit too ambitious and overfilling the map, i think cchotel was a success since the prophunt version is on regular rotation on some servers.

Actually, I was just thinking: Chaofanatic submitted an idea for a Z-axis oriented tower map called CP_Erector in the custom maps section earlier today.

What does this have to do with anything? I think maybe, whether or not erector is eventually added or even just considered, you could base the overall layout of the new map off of its design philosophy, and maybe combine it with the capture point system that Avanti has, so in the end you have a huge ass vertical tower map (like Erector), except BLU is tasked with carrying the intelligence past checkpoints as they climb up the tower (again just like Avanti). This would, I think, work better than a simple cp map because such a layout would be too easy to defend, whereas an intel/checkpoint system could even the playing field whilst still not making capping way too easy.
I'm sure my idea is full of gaping holes and stupid horseshit, but I just thought I'd throw it up into the air because I think it would be an interesting concept, and again, because it is only an idea.
