The Elder Scrolls Online Beta just started the signups phase. I don't play MMOs, ever, but if I get beta I'm gonna try this one. Sign up at http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/ if you'd like.

I used to be really into them, but I never had any friends to play with so I couldn't get into them. I tried WoW and found it incredibly boring, dabbled in various F2P games but found that they lacked depth, and finally just gave up. TF2 is the closest thing to an MMO I ever play nowadays.

If you guys can recommend any (preferably free) MMOs that are more on the fun, screw-off side than the grindy side, I'll give them a try.

I'd rather not recommend or play anything by Nexon.

On a more serious note, if we could gather up enough people to host a Terraria server, I think actually using the Teams function could make for interesting faction-like gameplay.

And if that's not massively multiplayer enough, I think there are servers out there with a maximum player number of 256

Doctor and I actually co-ran a Terraria server for all of about one week. If there was a way to use Hamachi to host a lag-free server capable of supporting more than 5 people at a time then we could all take part in some big, dumb Terraria parties now and again.

Also, why the fuck don't more of you guys play Realm of the Mad God, that game is fucking amazing.

I tried Terraria but I couldn't get into it. Maybe my experience would be different if I played with others.

I've heard great things about RotMG, I might try it out. Although the permanent death mechanic doesn't appeal to me.

I played RotMG for about 10 minutes then got bored of spamming things at things.

Convince me there's more to it and i'll play

I'd recommend Guild Wars 2 aswell. It's nifty not having a monthly fee.

Well, Rift is going free to play after two years. It was fun when I played, so I might start playing again.

I also have Guild Wars 2, Jake. I don't play it much, though.

Just started playing rfit, soul system is hard to get a hold of at low level. I feel like the builds don't start making sense until level 50-60.

I'm a warrior/tank on threesprings named AutoPilot, anyone else playing?

I'm playing pokemmo now. It's like fire red with some heart gold stuff mixed in, and since there are people all around you, you can finally trade shit to get those pokemans you crave.

Anyone remember Pokemon Crater? That site was actually a thing for a while when I was like, geez, I must've been 12 or 13 it was so long ago. The whole game felt even more completely pointless than usual as far as pokeymans go, which makes sense since it was an overcrowded 2D HTML-based MMO where like 32 players often occupied the same pixellated square simultaneously. You could buy master balls for 2000 in-game monies in any mart, and you always had at least a 5-10% chance of (literally) running into a wild shiny metallic Mewtwo or Dragonite, and for whatever reason it was so popular for the longest time that, despite its relatively generous bandwidth, the site's server would often overfill and start putting literally hundreds of players in a waiting queue without warning on busy days.

The whole thing was a stupid clusterfuck, but for some reason I played it almost nonstop for almost a month, because back then just about anything half-assed could keep me entertained.

Pokemmo is definitely a bit different from that, shinies are really rare and legendaries are at this point unobtainable. I think getting a shiny storyline pokemon (kabutops/snorlax etc.) would be like owning all the HOUWARs in tf2.

I'm playing this a little, but not much. I'm not playing many games in general lately, though.
