Oh and I've been saying from the start (see funserver admin suggestions) that low admins should be reporting who they LEGITIMATELY ban in a thread so higher admins can see that and not unban people who break rules. More than once have I actually banned someone (not perm mind you, just for a day or two days depending on what it was) for legit reasons such as a porn spray, abusing a game breaking glitch, etc.

OK. Next person to ban someone, start the "I banned this guy..." thread, and everytime it happens, just make a small post saying you banned X person with steamid Y and why.

When posting in thread, keep in mind a few things.
*This is for LEGITIMATE bans, not retarded 1 or 10 minute bans you do on the funserver to your friends or some kid acting like an idiot.

*The purpose of this is to try and fix the problem of people lying to high admins after being banned to get unbanned.

If you believe you were banned for illegitimate reasons, proof needs to be provided to help bring the case in your favor. Keep in mind root admins are the only ones capable of unbanning you, while every admin is capable of banning you.

Probably should've banned him longer since he's been doing this for the whole summer, And since he has been banned for racism before.

Edit: I extended the ban because clearly he isn't learning. I can generally keep going at this until you can cut that shit out. If you're curious, He's doing the same shit, and also evading my gags by using the trade chat, and then began rejoining constantly to evade the trade gag. I've also remembered that he has evaded a ban a while back, He's still due for that last time I checked. So let's try 4 more days.

Did you IP ban him? If not, he can still come back whenever the hell he wants.

Vanilla never stopped, and the playerbase of the funserver, of which 90% of the people on the forums are not a part of, were tired of it. I can speak for nobody but myself on this but i was getting messages daily about vanilla's behavior from both regulars and admins alike. So action was taken.

So before you pass judgement on the people who still care enough to play on the servers everyday, why don't you hop on and play a few maps with us.

I don't think Beetle was being sarcastic or anything when he said he was surprised that VB was banned for a legit reason.

Also, I don't play on the funserver often or for very long for obvious reasons. I play sporadically on the funserver and probably haven't played in a little over a week. I'm happy that someone got what they deserved, simple as that.

Actually, the main reason I don't play on the server isn't because of the admins, though it used to be. Now it's just the map selection and normal crowd ( though I do join when I notice certain people are playing, those people also don't frequent the server as much anymore).

I would like to ask the other fun server admins a question-

Do you warn-kick-ban people for abusing exploits such as the laser through walls on Arena_Grid_Walls? (This question extends past that example)

Personally I warn everyone at the start of the map and at least once individually (not everyone comes in at the start of the map, I'm usually first because of my connection.) After a warning I'll kick, if they return I ban for a hour. What do you guys do?

I know its the fun server and all but I think we should have some form of consistency for something like this that makes the game not so fun for other players and people who play legitimate. People often kick for dumb stuff (although lately I've only noticed this happen with admins who have gotten their powers within the past few months.)

Usually I just PM the person through admin commands and if they continue i kick every time they cheat. I really wish I had access to the slay command, it's like a less severe version of kicking and I think would work better in getting the point across to someone who doesn't realize he/she is doing anything wrong.

Generally i warn people not to exploit the map, if the exploiting happens, i punish the person doing it by warning, slaying or kicking. If it continues i punish the person's entire team, to show him that his actions have consequences. if that doesnt work i will ban him for a day.
