Yay! Just what I wanted to hear!
Anyway, I'd personally like to keep the old world. If we were going to start a new world, it would be best to wait at least until Notch's ADVENTURE UPDATE (bolded and italicized for awesomeness), so that we can have brand-new adventurey stuff to explore.

Your Server + My server = War!

How about one server becomes a Creative Server, where you can get as much items as you can and just build what you want and the other becomes the Adventure Server, where you have to survive (maybe even PvP enabled?), which would be fun when the 1.8 update gets released.

I'm afraid that I must take my server clients into consideration, and they would not like my server being a creative server (I have a hunch that that's what would happen if the plan was carried out). But, I could do something like this via multiverse.

Could both of you actually post your server specs for me, please? I'm just interested because mine lags so much, even with 6 players.

My server has an Intell i5-2400 (3.4 ghz), and 8 gb ddr3 ram.

Also, I'm pretty sure I have 20mb/s download and about 5 mb/s upload speeds.

And I think that's all of the important things that you need to know about the server.

Intel Core 2 Duo E8335 @ 2.66Ghz

With 2 gigs of ram


Runnning, Ubuntu Linux 11.04 64 Bit


Internet Speed: 30Mb/s Down 10Mb/s Up

Agreed, Ill take creative, but either way I have been trying to keep a balance of both...

I already have unlimited block placing etc, so for me creative mode is meh. Tbh the old map kinda sucks a little, I mean sure it has some good things in it, like my epic minecart roller coaster . It would be nice to be able to run 2 servers on one PC (I know you probably can but you personally don't have the ram :P) so that you could have a new map and the old map, it's an idea I guess, just not practical yet.
