I would appreciate if someone cobbled my room together for me, as my time is now going to be consumed by my efforts to model and contribute things.

I may be able to help out one or two people with rooms, if I'm able to finish mine relatively quickly.
Please, don't hold me to anything, though.

Here's my room:

Where the magic (and madness I subject you guys to) begins

This is pretty much just like my actual room. Also, if I disappear this February, you'll know why.

I really really really really wanted to make a tabletop pipeball game that actually worked, but I don't think Beetle would have appreciated it :p

Use custom textures.
Hint: Link.
Almost all TF2, HL2, ... textures weren't made for dorm rooms, hotel rooms,...

Neither were realistic textures if they are in a TF2 map.

great
now i'm confuzzled
first, egonny, you haven't answered my question on whether it's a good material or not, second, should i use a realistic looking texture, or just find some default tf2 texture?

I'm confuzzled now too :ohno: .
Anyway toobz, what I was trying to say is that if I was making a bed, I'd like it to have the texture of an actual bed rather than quicksand. But if you think it looks fine, then use it.

at first i was like :ohno:
then i was like :psyduck:
then this shit happened :psyboom:

anyways @beetle
errrr, ok. i guess that bedsheet shall run away and never return
@egonny

it's just what the texture is made out of, not what it represents.

Sand in your bed is annoying. I can only imagine quick sand gets annoying much faster.

*facepalm*
it's not real sand
it's just what the texture will sound like when you walk on it and shoot it.

You don't think QUICK sand would get annoying faster than REGULAR sand?

-----------
Anyway, I've used textures like that before to represent something similar (ie: mushrooms in Orient use a plaster tex, but it look mushroomy)
The Sandviches in Sandvich are made from plaster wall tex even though the are ham, cheese, tomato and bread...
Didn't even bother with the sounds or I would've have to record myself stepping on tomatoes and I don't like cleaning up messes.
