Bishop's Success Story
It's a short yet simple story. I had a pair of earbuds in TF2. I traded them for 4 hats, 2 I wanted and 2 I didn't (Which was a brain slug and a carouser's capotain). I then found someone on the steam forums who wanted the Capotain, saw he had a Service Medal, and SOMEHOW, I still have NO idea why he wanted this trade, but I was able to get the medal for the slug, the capotain, and a pyro mask. (Mind you, this was after Halloween. So he can't wear it. But hey, he wanted it...)
So I had this medal. Service Medal #10180, which I called #LOL 8D. I valued it on the forums, tried to get a a cool unusual, and so on. Then some guy says he REALLY wants a medal. Number doesn't matter. And he's into gift-game trades. He has over 200 games on his account so he can't risk a ban, so I figure I can trust him. And if he screws me over, it was just a small medal made of pixels and only wearable by one class.
Anyway, I asked if he's willing to gift Black Ops ($60.) SURPRISINGLY he said yes. We both confirmed the trade and got evidence in case things went south, but he was actually true to his word. I got the game, 100% legit through steam.
So what's the point of this? Somewhat to brag, but mostly to express my love for the Steam Community, and how when they want something in Team Fortress 2, they WANT it. The steam community is just awesome XD Also, surprisingly, this does NOT violate any terms of use. Valve stated that as long as both parties agree, they don't care about real-world trading.
TL;DR: I traded a service medal for a legit steam copy of Black Ops. I love the steam community. <3
Apparently some people *cough*tampashrew*cough*phrozen*cough* need a list of my games because "I could've asked for something better".
Team Fortress 2, L4D Series, HL series (INCLUDES PORTAL ) Bad Company 2, Killing Floor, Metro 2033, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Stubbs the zombie, UT3, Warhammer 40k DoW2, Worms, Poker Night, Fallout: New Vegas, the rest of the CoD series, Company of Heroes, then plenty of others on 360. Happy?

Look you're missing the point, so let's drop our pussy ass PC elitism for 5 seconds something that is valued even higher in the PC gaming than our smug superiority.
Namely, getting people to do stupid shit.

Re: Bishop's Success Story
I got 6 copies of black ops for free and sold 5.
That's a $60 game and a extra $150 for me.

Sorry, I also have Portal.PhrozenFlame wrote:I don't see Portal on that list, sir.
Add Fallout: New Vegas to my list (Pirated). I've tried Overlord and Oblivion, I didn't like either of them. Also, if you say Starcraft 2 then just GTFO now, kthxbaiTampashrew wrote: Overlord, TES:Oblivion, Fallout : New Vegas. Nothing better my ass.

Re: Bishop's Success Story
The most amazing part was where you got the medal for a brainslug and capotain. I know a lot of people getting a game for their medal (some even getting 100 bucks on PayPal for it!)
But anyway, congrats on the game

Re: Bishop's Success Story
I must say that you were very lucky bishop, although there really is no point to this thread at all. In fact, it's a person's naturally tendency to tell others what they accomplished, it just so happens that you are making people do stupid things in the process. For example, in one hour my friend sold his earbuds for 5 hats, and then he got another pair of earbuds for one refined, he made 2 people feel like idiots, unfortunately this isnt a great example since these are just a difference of a bunch of pixels. If anything it's to state how lucky you were and you should be acknowledged for being in the right places at the right time. So when you think about it there is absolutely no point of this topic at all...
Anyway, back to the subject at hand.
Exellent Performance! I cant believe you got 2 hats and a 60 dollar game for earbuds.
