I know you said you know for a fact its not a graphics card problem, but that is exactly what it sounds like...something is definitely overheating.

I meant it's not a problem because I know for a fact it's not out of date... I didn't consider overheating, I was caught up in the rage of MY COMPUTER IS BROKEN!? Haha... But that actually makes a lot of sense... If I give it a while you think it'll fix itself, if it IS an overheat problem?

it could. but it could also be damaged beyond repair. ive had both happen. you definitely want to keep it cool though if it at least means getting a fan and sitting it beside the computer to blow through it.

Over heating happens at times on my computer, but all it does is cause a chunk of lag and hasn't crashed my system at all. If it is an overheating problem, there's a good chance it will fix itself when it cools down(at least that's how I deal with it), but you may still want to invest in a better cooling system considering it crapped out on you before. Anything from a liquid cooling system to ,as beetle said, a fan should help. It may be a good idea to bring it in to radioshack or something and check if anything of the components are fried.

My computer used to crash all the time because of overheating. Just opened it up, wiped the fan of dust. and it runs fine.
Life is whatever.
