TF2 graphic problem

Unread post by Krandel »

This was happening for a while. When I play TF2, the characters look blocky-ish and they have no eyes. Not only that, but when someone dies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in at the time. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The second screen happens to me, except they're hands are frozen as if they're holding an invisible version of that weapon.
Life is whatever.

I should also add that I can't see any sprays or hear people talk on the mics.(I like the quietness of no one talking (especially if they're 5-12) but it does get too quiet sometimes.)

This might be becasue you might have the "allow all custom sprays" and "allow in game voice" deselected in your options menu. as for the first problem i have no idea.
Think of me what you will, I don't give a crap what you think about me. Nor will i change to please you.

I don't think they are deselected, because I never deselected it, but I'll check just to make sure.

EDIT: I tried it and I still could not see sprays or hear people. Either that or no one put up a spray and no one talked.

You're probably using some kind of config that is disabling it all.

Try right clicking on Team Fortress 2, selecting Properties and changing the launch settings. Add "-autoconfig" without the quotes inside that dialog bog and see if that changes anything.

What do you mean by verified the game integrity?

Yes they are. Not made by me, but still.

I just tried that. It messed up the quality of the game. How do I remove it?

try any or all of these:

1. remove skins
2. veryify game integrity (right click tf2<properties)
3. autoconfig (resets all cvars and cmds to default)
4. reinstall tf2

It probably just defaulted the quality to something other than high. You remove it the opposite way of how you put it on there - take the command out of where you put it.

But other than that, did it fix everything else or did you just close it as soon as you saw the graphic detail was lower?

I just tried the auto config and that did not work, so I'm going to try verifying game integrity.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, there might be one skin that could be causing this, since it happened after I got it.

It fixed nothing.

Ok I just tried everything and nothing changed. I even restarted TF2 and it still looks the same. I'mma just say that it's a problem with Valve or Steam and just wait for it to be fixed.

You even tried reinstalling TF2 from scratch? I've heard it even boosts fps if you haven't reinstalled in a while.
