I'm also wondering about how much the fun server costs before the slot reduction, and how much it costs now.

To me the solution seems obvious. Cap. needs money to provide us with, in my opinion, the best tf2 servers around. So i will try to donate when i can, like today i got some money, so i'm going to donate some of it because i don't want us to have to downsize. As for the Fun Server... i am not a reg. on that server anymore, BUT i was and thats the one thing that pulled me into cC. What keep me here is the community.

I see it like this, Come for the fun, stay for the community.

Now, we have 450 members in cC, if we could just get half of us to give cap. 1$ to start, i think we would have no problems at all anymore.

donating doesn't take much effort and when you think about, the choice of deciding between that extra dollar menu item or donating to cC should be a very simple one. cC provides you with hours of enjoyment and nonsense, where as that burger only got you closer to heart failure and shit.

So do Cap. a favor and donate that 1$.
P.S. if you do it i will also ensure that you win some internets.

Im afraid if the Funserver is taken away altogether, then the kids who frequent it will migrate to the main server.
So to avoid this, i think reducing the slot number is a good idea.

we could just bitch them into submission.

I would kinds miss the fun server. It's a good practice tool for the classes I suck at, like sniper. No one cares if you suck there. I do my share of donating to help the community out, even though I usually turtle shell up in the servers and you never hear me talk. But I think captain would appreciate any amount of money you'd be able to contribute. Last time I rented servers for TeamSpeak it was something like 12 dollars every 6 months fot 10 slots. So a little could go along way.

that is the most horrible run-on sentence. the reason we play at night is because WE ALL HAVE LIVES during the day. The night is the only time we have off from work and school.

I brought up a very similar topic ages ago on Facebook. I said that we can't shut down the funserver cos then all the little kiddies that play on the fun server will move over to the main server and therefore cause a riot. We need to mature players on the fun server to make them suitable to play on the main server. Because I live in Scotland it's hard for me to play on the main server cos the times I come on it's got nobody on it, where the fun server might have a few players on it. However, if the fun server is full now the slots are reduced and I can't get into the reserved admin slot now I'm an admin, I invite people to play on the main server. People I know that can play properly that is. I am a jobless student and therefore have next to no money but I'll see what I can do with a little donation. I have been meaning to donate, but I just haven't got around to it.

you should get an afternoon job so that when you get home its time to play on the main server ! mcdonalds is always looking for white people..

Hey everyone, I didn't really notice the funserver had this many people that disslike, honestly I love it, I go on there all the time. I'm actually just asking if you if you can make the slot number even, like 18 or 20... probably 18, because on a full server one always sits out. Please don't shut the server down, though, I've also been meaning to send a donation to help the community out over the summer, hopefully I'll commit to that.

It'd odd because one slot is being used for the reserve slot.

That is where you are wrong Divine, I think. When I tried to join using the menu short cut, I looked in my console after it said it was full, and it said 20/20. 19 visible, 1 hidden, so effectively it is even, not odd. I will see what I can do about a donation, but I am saving for a new computer and a few other things like every day life so it won't be a huge amount.

The server is actually 20 slots, but only 19 players can be playing at a time. That was Link's point.

Or occasionally there will be 20/19 for some weird reason

The 20/19 is normally when someone joins using my menu shortcut or "connect IP" in console, and right before it boots them for slot reservation it says 20/19.

This topic should probably be taken down, on the consideration of now it's going to 28 slots.

Well, technically I started the subscription friday morning, so whenever captain get's the time. Unlike most of us fun server fags, he has a job and stuff. A respectable one at that, but his job takes a lot of time into his schedule, and sleep. Plus it is a holiday weekend so I'm not expecting anything until next week. Hopefully his work isn't too busy :/
