I am scared to shit now because Haiti (I don't know how to spell) and Chile were hit by an earthquake. The scientist say that California and Alaska are next, any suggestions for survival?

Really anyplace can get an earthquake is just the severe earthquakes or it could happen more often at the black lines since those are major fault lines.

I'm living in California, so technically I'm screwed...

That would be correct since California lies on the "Ring of Fire" area which is heavily made up of volcanoes(most of them underwater) and fault lines :x I hear the San Andres Fault Line is suppose to "crack" soon

Ironically enough, you really have nothing to worry about. Buildings in California are made to be the most earthquake resistant in the world, so you have little to worry about. You're still screwed on account of your economy being fucked up the A, but you probably won't die in an earthquake. 8-)

Also, you're happy that Haiti got completely devastated by an earthquake?
Sadist.

I don't know how that will happen since Alaska is suppose to ram into Russia as Asia and North America become closer together .-. I just remember from watching the Science Channel some time ago about natural disasters, One scientist stated that the San Andres fault line is long overdue for an earthquake. Then again they also say a super volcano is suppose to erupt too and the last thing on your mind would be your problem with an earthquake if that happens :(

If anything, the Supa Volcano LIES on the San Andreas fault line, so double the trouble!

Wrong... Chile's was a 8.8, and Haiti's was a 7.0, Chile's was 6 times powerful (It's a logarithm)

but the earthquake in Haiti DID do more damage

That's because Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. None of the buildings could have withstood a 5, yet alone a 7. Regardless, I donated to Haiti, and before the earthquake, too.

Earthquakes are NEVER good. they're just less devastating if the buildings in the area are designed to withstand them.

I wouldn't go that far Phrozen.. Earthquakes are necessary for plate tectonics. In a nature sense earthquakes would be good since if it wasn't for it we would still be Pangaea instead of several different continents. While for the human sense yea they are bad since they destroy our shit, but personally I say we shouldn't of built on a fault line in the f'in first place.

like wild fires

they kill people, but they're good for the environment
