Blessed be thine spirit by the father, the son, and the holy ghost...
While we are on the subject, isn't a captain supposed to go down with his ship, so to speak?

SO I guess its too late to talk about safety, driving too fast, endangering others, blah blah...

(Don't get me wrong, I like to drive fast)

Good to hear you guys are OK though.

Deer come out of nowhere man. They are really hard to avoid and they stick around the highways out here. The chance of you hitting one going 70 (the speed limit) is pretty high early in the morning. A decent sized buck can do the same amount of dammage as hitting a tree dead on.

yeah see everybody keeps telling me I should have hit it, friend driving a wrx followed that logic knee capped the deer then him and his brother were killed by it going through the windshield.

Exactly. There wasn't really a whole lot you could have done.

I know how deer are. I live in Colorado Rocky Mountians. People come here from all over to hunt. I've had several near misses myself.
They are fast little buggers, I don't blame you for trying to dodge it, a deer or elk in the windshield is about as bad as it can get. Clipped the legs and several hundred pounds through the window, ewwww.

yea. i clipped one here a few years ago. saw the first two bounce across the road, and clipped the lagger. i got off easy though, no serious damage to the car or the deer. i broke hard when i saw the first two.

when i was up north in Superior Park, i saw what was left of a vehicle that hit a moose. eesh.

glad to hear you are doing fine. will insurance cover your car?
