It is at least not as bad as my friend's mic. It catches what he says and amplifies it, like some sort of endless loop from Hell. It goes Hello? Hello? hello? Hello? Hello?
Was there any previous software required for the mic?

I think it has to do with the sensitivity of the mic. It may just pick up the test sounds from the speakers and play those back in a horrid loop.
But then again I am really not one to talk.

Some computers have advanced recording technology (I forget what it's called) that cancels this out, otherwise turn down your mic sensitivity, your volume, or use headphones.
