I liked it okay.
I really liked Nero...but I've always been a fan of crazy leaders. Old Spock was kind of a drag, but I'm glad they put him in there and explained the whole thing as an alternate universe rather than just making a remake and pretending everything else never happened.

I was pretty disappointed there was no Klingons. I liked the redshirt biting the dust. I thought the giant aliens chasing kirk on the ice planet was a bit much, though fun to watch. Uhura was sofa king hot. The green girl just didn't look right. I dunno if it was bad makeup or what. Something looked wrong tho.
I took my mother to see it for mothers' day along with dinner, she like the original when she was younger and we watched NextGen together when I was a kid. I thought it was very entertaining, and the alternate timeline thing helped to explain away in the incongruous parts. I would have liked a little more dialogue between Kirk, Spock and Bones like they always had in the old days, or between Kirk and Nero, as Kirk would often have more of a dialogue with the villian about something pseudo-philosophical. The engine room was odd, with all those pipes, and I don't remember any random shots of people walking through corridors when the red alert went off (every time there was a red alert in the original there was some random shot of people walking around with the alarm going off).
I have always like Star Trek, and I loved what Leonard Nimoy said on SNL, that if you are some sort of Trekkie that is going to pick the movie apart then you suck.

Just a side note, best song by a former Star Trek cast member?

You decide!

the last guy is Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager if you didn't know.

I'm the only remotely nerdy guy in my group of friends, but they all wanted to go see it before I even brought it up. Turns out a good deal of them had secretly been trekkies.

The movie was absolutely amazing in my opinion. My mom is a huge trekkie but only for the original show. I grew up on it and no matter how corny it seems now, I will always love it. If you haven't seen it yet go watch it now.

This clip represents everything amazing about the show.
