I think any game where you can converse with people you don't know online should be automatically M-rated. That's how I will see it when I'm a parent. I won't necessarily wait until they are 18, but I'll still be monitoring what they play at age 13.

Technically that's not for the ESRP to rate. Online interactions differ from person to person. So to rate TF2 on level of violence and say it's M, just retarded.

T games can contain violence and minimal blood, while M games contain intense violence and blood and gore. TF2 is rated the way it is because of its blood/gore/violence, not online interactions.

yea, ive always assumed being online didnt affect the ESRB because it says "M-rated" then under it says "Experience may change online"

It says specifically in the beginning of the game : "Online interaction is not rated by some ass heads you know better than you". Sorry I have a bad relationship with ESRB.
