Yeah Bethesda is making another project before a new Elder Scrolls.
So don't be expecting to see Elder Scrolls V: (Insert Province Name Here) on store shelves anytime soon.

Bethesda isn't making the new Fallout, Obsidian is. They handed the Fallout expansion/side story to them so they could work on the new Elder Scrolls. They won't say that for now, but that's what's happening.

Okay, yes they handed Fallout: Las Vegas (the newest fallout game. Completely new, not an expansion) to Obsidian. However they also announced that they are working on an unannounced project and to not hold your breath for a new Elder Scrolls. They also said it will be a long time before the project is announced.

Never heard of obsidian, but now I'm curious as to what the next project is.

TES5 was going by Skyrim according to Bethesda (I think) and theyre still finishing the last Fallout 3 DLC

They're also making alpha protocol and the KotOR MMO, if memory serves.

That would be bioware and yeah, that developer definitely has a better track record

The reason people are excited is that Obsidian is made up of the guys who made Fallout 2. This is (probably) going to be their first project where they aren't going to get their finances fucked over.

I sure as hell hope so.
