Captain , this site's for competitive matches , and you will probably find some matches here , instead of searching all around the interwebz for people who are ready.
So just check it out

And this is gather for IRC
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2gatherus
Its , you gather up with a bunch of random people and fight the other team , its like a match but.. with random people.

Competitive TF2 can kill a casual gaming server.

A) You'll have to do tryouts which means telling some of your regulars they aren't good enough to play. theres no better way to alienate your regulars than to tell them they aren't part of the team.
B) You'll bring in players that are either incredibly skilled (like daedlus x10) or hackers, ruining the game play for the casual gamers that frequent this server. You think you hate when Aus and I snipe you? Wait till you get someone on here who is really good. You think Plastic is annoying? Wait till there's people who really care what class you play.
C) You'll need a practice/match server which means either converting one of the existing servers or buying a new one. Converting an existing one means losing the fun server, buying a new one means dues.

That's just a few reasons off the top of my head. In my mind this is a casual gaming server. Starting a competitive team based out of a server turns the server into a competitive server.

Try starting with open 6v6 tournaments hosted on the server. It brings new players onto both the forums and the server. It allows people to be competitive without taking everything to seriously.

This is, of course, only my opinion. I just wanted to voice my concerns.

All of those reasons are why I would rather do gather type matches than actually run a competitive clan. I guess I kind of assumed you people knew that we would have to do tryouts and tell people they wen't good enough.

You only think you are a good scout. Go play against daed, LordJohnWarfin or even Bluephyre and then tell me you are a good scout.

Even if you are the best at a class on our server, chances are you would get dominated in a real clan match. We are probably one of the better groups of casual gamers but those guys mean serious business.

This is why we should expand to another game, that anyone here can get, for clan matches.
Empires
