central point cap contest.

Design a mid cap point blah, blah. This one's more about looks than gameplay, but I want to use mine as a base for a new 5 point cp map.

So please follow the link. DL the maps. Put 'em in your tf2/maps directory.

Start the game, bring down console (~), type cap_point
and a list of maps will come up (9 of them). Go in game in each one, be in awe of their magnificance and beauty.

Then go back to that thread ^ and vote for me no matter what

If I win map gets cC posters for release. (that should secure the victory for me).

But as I said, I was as concerned about gameplay as beauty. And I ran out of time so there are some unfinished parts, needs lots of light tweakig, etc...
Also, no custom content allowed so I have to make some models yet.

But I'd love to get feedback from everyone on how they think gameplay will be on this point and if I should tweak anything. Hopefully in a few weeks I can have an alpha map ready for testing.

Right on

I wouldn't say aweful. Rough, unfinished and needing attention, deffinately.

Yep, forklifts are brushes, right down to the crate on the fork. No custom content for this contest.
They also double as vators.

Missed tie for 2nd by one vote... Darker side (guy that made the flatbed trucks) came on strong at the end and won by 2-3 votes.

I'd only place the blame on myself of course. I had 3 days to detail it, spent them carving tikis and play TF2. Then did a rush job last 6 hours of the last night and had to work the next day.

BUT... looks like since the top 3 were so close there is a new round of voting for finalists

Looks like I did win, but the tf2maps mods seem to have either forgotten about the contest or don't care.

Not really sure, don't really care. No prize and I feel like I 'stole' it from Darker as he won the first vote. Ironically he wanted a final vote round and I didn't.

But I have done a little work, mostly cleaning up the last minute errors I made before the contest and putting the bridge into the skybox (which shrank the map by about 500%).

I also got this almost wrapped up and ready for this map and hoover
