I was at a Swans concert like three weeks ago. They are fantastic and The Great Annihilator is one of the best albums of all time.

Been listening to a shit ton of Kyuss lately, mainly because I've been cold and those fuzzy dessert riffs warm me right up.
Also, Kyuss > Queens of the Stone Age. Just saying.

Not bad at all. I got off to both of those songs, and that is rare for me.MrKerplunkers wrote:Been listening to a shit ton of Kyuss lately, mainly because I've been cold and those fuzzy dessert riffs warm me right up.

Re: Le thread de la Musique
You've probably heard of their guitarist Josh Homme, now world famous head of Queens of the Stone Age and whatever side project he's doing this week. In fact a lot of members in Kyuss found their way into Queens, but were fired by Homme._Pipeline wrote: Not bad at all. I got off to both of those songs, and that is rare for me.

Kyuss was one of those bands who really didn't get along with each other.

Re: Le thread de la Musique
Some kickass works made by extremely obscure trance musicians. These are actually some of my favorite songs, most of which can be found in only a few places that I know of on the entire internet.
God tier if you're a fan of trance in general.

Re: Le thread de la Musique
'Course then there's also the other stuff I like, which consists of more classic rock influences and the outright kickassery of Pink Floyd, but I'm fairly certain we're all pretty familiar with PF and thus there's no real need to post their music here. So instead you get some truly underrated earsex from people like Satriani and Thorogood. Also I don't care if Satriani can't sing, his godlike guitar powers completely make up for it. Meanwhile, I hear George Thorogood is going to actually have a motherfucking concert in a town less than 15 minutes from where I live, and I'm strongly contemplating hauling my ass over there if I have the time and extra money. But knowing me, I probably won't go even though I have every reason to.
Also, One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer is totally worth the eight and a half minutes.

Re: Le thread de la Musique
Bumped for bits of the kickass soundtrack from Kakuto Chojin, a somewhat obscure fighting game from who knows how many years ago. A lot of the music from the game arguably doesn't fit well with what you'd expect to hear in the background when you're busy punching and kicking bland-looking characters in the nether regions, but that still doesn't keep it from being good, especially if you enjoy mish-meshes of ambient, psychedelic, and progressive trance.

Re: Le thread de la Musique
So I went on 4chan's /mu/ board for like 15 minutes just for shits and giggles. I ended up finding a big ass recomendation list and made a spotify playlist out of it. it's at 2933 songs. It'd be longer if Spoify would patch up the holes in it's damn library. Here's some select picks.

Nothing by these guys that has been posted on Youtube has more than 500 views, and they still give me the boehners for some reason.

Re: Le thread de la Musique
Oxide Tones is a German Post Rock store that sells music from essentially all over the globe. If you're the kind of person who enjoys listening to extremely indie shit that your friends have never heard of while NOT having your ears bleed horribly because it sucks, this is the place for you.
Some EPs are pay what you like, others have a set price, but most of them can actually be shipped to whatever location you desire to pick up the CDs from. Prices range from €5.00 to €13.45 for the music itself (usually 6 tracks), plus €3.45 for shipping CDs and 7'' vinyls (When available, full vinyls cost €7.00). At most, €20.45. There are a few works that ship double vinyls that are slightly more costly, but the most expensive thing in the shop is Project More Hope For Japan, a 37-track 4-CD set. It is €30.00. There are five copies of the set left for sale. Jump on it now if you are interested, you will probably never get a second chance for the rest of your life.
"But what if I'm not sure I like Post Rock music from across the globe?"
First of all, that's a stupid question. Second of all, that's what these upcoming videos are for. The first two videos are short (barely over a minute each), and the last is the official video for a song by Canyons of Static.
If you're still uncertain, feel free to listen to and/or download this 8-track EP from Bandcamp. It has a single from 8 different artists associated with Oxide Tones. Thank you for your time.
