I didn't move the fan, it is just out of camera range.

So I was just talking with one of the guys at work, and his buddy has dumped literally about $10k into his computer, no monitors or keyboards all VR. And in order to keep his system cool, he bought a mini-fridge and cut out holes for the cables and cranked the thermostat all the way down and the thing works like a dream. Talk about massive cooling.

Why the fuck does everyone have multiple screens? I can barely keep my ADD-riddled brain looking at one.
I'll try and get a setup picture later...
EDIT: and awesomesauce has a tissue box at his computer.

and that is how awesomesauce got his name. just think of the name awesomeSAUCE. he is using those tissues to clean up his awesomesauce after looking at interwebz not suitable for kids videos.

not only that, ive got eight virtual desktops as well!
i actually work from home two or three days a week. i deal with linux/BSD servers all day long. mainly email, but some backup and monitoring systems as well. most *nix system operators like having tons of screen real estate.
at a minimum ill have open....
- terminal window to my IRC sessions on freenode and gamesurge.
- terminal window to my instant messenger session on my web server.
- firefox: task manager
- firefox: gmail
- firefox: misc stuff
- firefox: uer chat app
- evolution (outlook clone for *nix platform, one that actually works, unlike outlook)
- terminal window to core pop/imap server
- terminal window to highest load inbound smtp server
- amarok: hard to work w/o music
- tildy (pull down console hotkeyed to F1) terminal open to local system
... and then windows open for whatever im working on at the moment. just due to the nature of my job, i tend to have quite a few windows open as i switch from task to task. ill just leave them open until im done with them, or until end of day. whichever comes first.
ive found that editing photos (the other hobby) is done far more effectively when you have a dual monitor setup.
