My friend bought a $315 art textbook, and on the first day they were told they wouldn't be needing it and to return it to the bookstore. Bookstore said the shrink wrap was damaged (about an 2 inch line near the back corner) and they could give him the sell back value. That value was $46. He kept it in his dorm room as a conversation piece.

i ended up renting them from some company called Skyo. A little skeptical since ive never heard of them, but they were a lot cheaper than campus.

I like to wait until the first day of class before buying my textbooks. I saved so much when I found out I didn't need the textbook for three of my classes. I also never buy anything new anymore after I found out some people resell their $100 textbooks for $20. Personal ad sites are really nice for finding great deals. =D

Could be worse. You could be like England and triple the price of tuition while still only dealing with part time lecturers.

Personally, I'm trying to give as little amounts of shits as possible.

I already set up an early graduation in January because I got all the necessary credits to do so, and I set up Senior lunch release and Work release at the end of my day so I get out of school 2 hours early everyday. I also applied to a community college to get some gen ed credits in the Spring before heading off to whoever the fuck takes me in for four years, whether it be Illinois State or Northwestern.

Just bullshit your whole senior year and graduate with honors anyway, then proceed to community college and knock out your remaining general eds for cheaper. Proceed to university < 2 years afterward. It's what I did.
