After reading this thread I watched several episodes of Regular Show, riveting stuff chaps!

The way I see it is like this. The cartoons I watched growing up were good then, so they appeal to me more. Now that I'm older and not much interested in cartoons and don't watch many of them they don't appeal to me. Now to say the quality of the shows has slightly degraded, that might be true. But I'm willing to bet there's good cartoons to make up for the sucky ones.

Also, ponies are not funny.

All I'm saying is that half the things we were growing up watching would probably be declined by any network today. Just look at this, Violence, calling Bugs Bunny an "ass"

Stop talking about cartoons. Opinions about cartoons are inevitably colored by nostalgia, and are generally pretty awful.

I watched an episode of Ed Edd and Eddy a month ago and I didn't think it was at all funny, and I loved that shit as a kid.

Only show that still hold up to me is Courage the Cowardly Dog, and that's not as good as Regular Show (although I think it's better then Adventure Time)

I'll never understand why people put the consumerism and television of their childhood on a pedestal. I do not miss the 90s. I never will, it was fun then but it wouldn't be fun now. If you need to admire anything about being a kid, admire the innocence, the happiness, and the blissful ignorance of your childhood, not dumb shit like old cartoons and old toys.
