Hmm, I live in South Carolina, where the "corridor of shame" exists. This is a group of counties along I-95 that are basically the worst places in the entire country to go to school. I wouldn't say we have the stupidest people in the country, just some of the most poorly educated.

As far as the stupidest state, I would have to say Mississippi.

Also, the average IQ is around 100, while a person can be considered retarded (I know this is a harsh word, but it's still accurate) at 70 or bellow, and my IQ is above 160. Now this is not to say that the +60 difference makes average people retarded compared to me, but sometimes it does feel like it.
