I run on windows XP.
Now this happenned once before but it fixed itself. I turned on my computer and i went to my user, but it said all my personal settings were gone or something like that. All my internet explorer sites and history, my desktop shortcuts, and my documents.
But i went into my program files and all the previous stuff is still there, just not the way i had it.
It's like i have 2 accounts but the old one is hidden in the new one.
How do i fix this?
What Happened to all my settings?

Wow, I have no idea.
Re: What Happened to all my settings?
It's like all my personal settings were stripped, but all my files are just [acked away, and not where i want them.

Re: What Happened to all my settings?
I've had this happen to me a couple of times. It happens when you force shut off your computer without going through the whole logging off process (or even worse, if you do it WHILE it's going through the process).
Not really a solution, like captain I have no idea what to do. I just started over (sometimes a fresh start is good).
EDIT: Run a system restore on your computer, it should fix everything.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 - System Restore for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212/ - System Restore/File Checker for Windows Vista
Basically this reverts all Windows-related settings back to a previous state that your computer should have backed up. If you had system restores turned off to preserve RAM, then there's nothing this can do for you (you probably don't have it off, don't worry).
