lOOking for wOrK Map Rate-Athon (with Prizes)

Unread post by GrimGriz »

lOOking for wOrK
MAP RATE-ATHON
(with PRIZES!!!)

Where: lOOking for wOrK server: 66.150.164.56:27015
When: Now until Saturday, March 28, 2009, @ 12:01 a.m. Pacific

Thanks to captainAngry, the map ratings (!maprate) are working on lOOking for wOrK again! To celebrate and replenish the ratings that were lost, I'm giving away 2 copies of Call of Duty: World at War* (see fine print).

Here's how it will work:
Until Tuesday, March 24, 2009 @ 12:01 a.m., the server will be running the 5CP push maps as per the original rate off. After that, the server will return to it's regular map cycle with the winner of the 5CP push going up against fastlane in the regular rotation.

On Saturday, March 28, 2009 @ 12:01 a.m., I will take a snapshot of the ratings. I will choose 1 random steam ID from the map with the most ratings. The owner of that steam ID will win a copy of CoD:WaW (see fine print).

The steam ID with the most maps rated will also win a copy of CoD:WaW (see fine print).

THAT'S TWO CHANCES TO WIN!!!

Play on my server and rate as many maps as possible. If you rate the map with the most ratings, that enters you in the random drawing. If you rate more maps than anyone else, you automatically win!

FINE PRINT:
All times Pacific. The "copies" were obtained by me as a bonus when purchasing 2 video cards. I received the CDs with "key codes" required to fully use the game on stickers on each CD. I'm 95% certain you can open steam, go to your 'my games' list, click 'activate a product on steam', and put that key code in the product code box and DL the game. In the event that I'm wrong, I will mail the disk to the winner who owns the steam ID, but the winner will be responsible for shipping and handling.

In the event there is a tie for the "most maps rated" portion of the contest, a random winner from those in the tie will be selected.

It saves your steam ID with your rating so that it knows it's you when you want to change your vote or something.

I have a list of all the cC members steam IDs so if one of those guys win I can easily give grim your in game name if you win.

Now...it seems to me that a lot of the times when I pop on the server and it's empty...it changes map almost immediately. So, if you found yourself with little to do or 3 spare minutes...it may behoove you to pop on and do a rating. There's several maps that have been rated just the once, so I think someone else is doing this very same thing.

If it switches as soon as you join, someone must have been on the map and then left. Until someone enters the map, it won't start the map time but as soon as it starts, it's unstopable.

ROFL, did me and you really win Grim? That's awesome.

Buuut you can't download the game through steam with the CD key, and I don't feel comfy giving out my address, so I disqualify myself

Hanzo, if you trust me I would gladly give grim my address and then send you the game when I got it. I know how it is about giving your address out on the internet. You could give it to me via phone so you don't have to send it via the internet if it made you more comfortable.

It's up to you. Doesn't make a difference to me either way.
