Websites make me mad....

Unread post by g_e_oos »

I have no where else to do it so I'm going to rant here. Why the hell are some of these websites so frustrating! I'm going to buy a cheap little laptop for class right? I just thinks it's sad that on almost every website I can't find a price! It pisses me off so much! I'll like a laptop and I'll compare it with the others that I find but when it won't tell me the price of the stupid thing I end up leaving the stupid website out of pure frustration! I can't be the only one that feels this way so they must lose customers because of it.

The one good website I found was simple and told me the price! Amazing!

Try these sites:
http://www.tigerdirect.com
http://www.newegg.com/
http://www.microcenter.com

Microcenter is a good store I go to often, not sure if you can order parts online though.

  • 1.) If you want a cheap laptop just for school a place like Walmart is going to be a good place to go. Somewhere that will buy things in bulk in order to sell it cheap. You'll probably get something from there for a good price, although I have never bought anything from Walmart myself because I don't like to feel like white trash when I walk into a store.

2.) If you care at all about specs, customize a laptop at Dell, HP etc. I have had personal dell laptops, business HP and Dell laptops. They all work fine. Get the replacement plan though. Most of the time you can get a plan where they replace your laptop even if it is your fault for breaking it.
The problem in trying to compare premade laptops online is that manufactures will assign different model numbers to very similar or identical items. They do the same thing for TVs. It started when stores started offering price match guarantees. If the model numbers are different, they are different products.

Remember, laptops will break, period. If you take good care of it they can last more than a few years but if you get a 13lb laptop with a 17in wide screen monitor, just moving the thing around with you is enough wear and tear for things to break after a few years. I have had problems with all my laptops except for my work ones, solely because my work laptops are docked 90% of the time, closed and away from harm.

ive heard that the MSI Wind is pretty good. my wife bought a comparable product from Asus, the Eee 1000H. she loves it. the only thing that was a bit overstated was the battery life.

aren't batterly lives always overstated in the specs of everything. Yeah, my phones battery will last five days, but only if I don't touch it, don't receive any messages and turn off the radio signal.
