Childhood T.v. shows
Childhood T.v. shows
So just out of curiosity. What t.v. shows (or radio shows in the case of Big John/ Dantego) did you watch as a kid?
When life hands you lemons, make grape juice, then sit back and watch the world wonder how you did it.

Re: Childhood T.v. shows
I used to watch a lot of the Andy Grifith Show for some reason. I don't know why. I think it was what was on when I was going to bed every night.

Marshal, Will and Holly
On a routine expedition
Hit the geaaaaaaatest earthquake ever known…
High on a rapids, that struck their tiny raft
And plunged then down ten thousand feet below
Into the land of the lost… the land of the lost lost lost ….
LoL. First off you need to remember that then I was a kid, owning a color TV was really quite a big deal! It genuinely added a lot of pizzazz to the THREE channels available. Each show was on for about ½ hour per day, and there was no such thing as catching it on its next run, so you had to make plan ahead to be there when you knew it was going to be on.
Like you all mentioned so far, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, Loony Toons were always favorites, but then in the late 70’s there came something new that fast became my favorite. .. It was unheard of in it’s era, like a soap opera of cartoons – In a world when every show was its own episode, something new with continuity between each episodes came out. I’d set my alarm every weekday morning for 0600 Hrs to get up and watch:
Star Blazers
That’s right everybody, Not only did Big John play the first video game, but he also was a follower of the first Anime!!!

on half days of school i remember coming home and catching like 2-3 episodes of good times every now and then.
when we finally got cable i liked rug rats, all that, ren and stimpy, who line is it anyways?, and jerry springer.

Hey Arnold! was the best damn show ever. I watched most everything on Nick/Cartoon Network, though.
Oh, and Prince of Bel-Air, of course.

I feel like such a fool to be the one to forget about the prince, what a classic show
