still contemplating this. guess I better figure it out sooner than later.

I suppose since there are alot of ctf maps and I'm working on orient and plr might be good. As long as it doesn't have that dumb end ramp.
If I do I gotta decide style.
I have my forklift model, would be good to stack a bunch of explosives and a dispenser on.
So possibly a warehouse area.

I could use any ideas you guys have, anything you'd like to see, whatever.

You should use your castle skills to make a map where the goal a race to defend/destroy the castle.

Maybe the blue team has to push a barricade up to the door from the inside and the red team has to push the wooden horse or battering ram to the outside of the door. If red team wins, the door/castle explodes and if the blue team wins reds cart explodes wherever it is. The castle door would be in the middle of the map and there would have to be side routes for either team to flank the other.

There is a lot of cool things you can do with castles which I know you are capable of. Moats and stuff would be cool and it would set you apart from the other generic PLR maps I have seen thus far.

Gah, typing this makes me think this would make an awesome payload map but that second cart inside the castle is annoying. I still haven't seen anything amazing in PLR. Also, crossing the tracks = fail since the carts can get stuck on each other.

Thanks for the ideas. A battering ram into different parts of the castle would be cool as a PL I think.

I'm not sure, I don't really care for pipeline and everytime I really think about PLR... MEH. Can't actually say it excites me to think about.

Maybe a castle ctf would be best. I think the ctf maps will probably be more fun/popular anyway.

maybe 2 stages, 3 starts to get hard to fit into setting as I want to keep it simple.

stage 1: blu starts at back of small village, cap middle of village, then caps drawbridge.
stage 2: drawbridge lowers, blu caps courtyard, then has to push through and cap throne room. Don't really know what else to put in between.

that's 2 stages and 4 caps. Fits into contest rules I believe since they've been modified.

Yeah, I think PLR maps are going to be terrible for a while. The whole race thing is dumb. If people started to develop ideas where you pushing the cart actually has a goal beyond the 'race' I think it would be more widely accepted but as it stands now it is pretty meh.

Maybe the contest maps will change my mind. I am certainly open to a PLR map being fun and exciting, I just havn't seen it yet.

Could you remove ctf_drift from the list? It's basically an old version of snowdrift, that means they're not separate entries.
