A late night conversation turned into a more serious discussion (well what ever you consider serious)
If you dot feel like reading but have an opinion please just skip it and post below

theGreatZamboni: im going to update our youtube page to 2.0

thedoghouse: NUUUUUUUU

theGreatZamboni: i need to anounce it on the official post

thedoghouse: 2.0 SUCKS

theGreatZamboni: it will change in a few weeks anyway

theGreatZamboni: force change

thedoghouse: yeah, but leave it on the good one while we still can

theGreatZamboni: we need to get used to change sir

thedoghouse: this isn't change, this is fail at keeping an original, and GREAT design

theGreatZamboni: sorry

theGreatZamboni: if they realize that people want options they will bring the old version back, this will have for sure because 80% of people dont like it

thedoghouse: are you in that 80%?

theGreatZamboni: half and half

theGreatZamboni: i dnt care which one it is as long as my videos get out

thedoghouse: the new design drives me INSANE

thedoghouse: I can't look at the videos the way I want, and ITS, TOO, SHINEY

theGreatZamboni: but the new view only is suited to YouTube's Partners, YouTube isn't the peoples anymore. YouTube is now controlled by people with lots of money. With their new promotion feature you pay YouTube to promote your videos. Now think who has money to waste on promoting their videos other than big corperations?

thedoghouse: eh, what can yah do, of course you COULD try to remake youtube the way it was and should be

theGreatZamboni: They new 2.0 is made so banners are more prominent, with out the banner your page is lacking in your own sense of style

thedoghouse: but getting it noticed would be hard

theGreatZamboni: i have looked into making youtube again

thedoghouse: and?

theGreatZamboni: and calling it OurTube

thedoghouse: I was thinking UsTube but OurTube sounds cooler

thedoghouse: of course, there might be a lawsuit or 2 coming out of youtube if it takes off >.>

theGreatZamboni: it would take work but people would get behind it, people who realize that youtube is no longer the people's

thedoghouse: all we need, a webpage, publisism, monah (mostly to advertise on google), time, and the ability to put advertisements for it on youtube

theGreatZamboni: YouTube can still exist but it must establish itself as one thing. Is it for companies and news, collections of series from around the web. Or is youtube going to keep convincing itself it is still for the people but still in turn withholding from their users who aren't putting out videos that have millions of views

thedoghouse: yeah

theGreatZamboni: we can maybe make a branch of youtube thats for less know videos then when they become big say to the people at youtube "hey this is a good one you should feature it on your front page
gaining it publicity

theGreatZamboni: but it would still remain on both sites

thedoghouse: psssh, like youtube would let that happen, they'd steal the idea and hire a bunch of people just to go out telling people their videos are good and to promote them

theGreatZamboni: You know what, there should have to be a separation. YouTube should just function as it describes itself a viral service by the people for the people

thedoghouse: yeah

theGreatZamboni: well now im going to take our little late night chat and make a forum topic out of it

thedoghouse: dooo eeet

I'll have to see what the new profiles look like. I hate the old ones and probably will hate the new ones too.

I don't see the problem, the new layout works fine for me. If you got a problem with it, there are alternatives, daily motion and the like.

Will I still be able to watch videos of people hurting themselves or doing stupid stuff with cats?

If not, what the fuck is the issue? How "pretty" your profile is? Y'watch videos on youtube, nothing else.
