Then again Valve could be playing a joke on everyone who always says it's going to be the spy update.

They always say it's the spy update. We'll just have to wait and see.

EDIT: Was it really there before? I've seen people doing image edits on the scout update saying it's the spy update.

Kotaku wouldn't edit theirs and there is hundreds of people on the steam forums that swear they saw it. Guess we'll find out eh?

Looks pretty cool, glad they are upgrading thos classes together. The spy stuff looks cool. The infinite cloak could be pretty wicked, but the fake body thing is sweet too.

I am not opposed to this. but im not giving up my kurki for this. my teamates can burn in hell for all i care.

It might end up replacing the SMG, still not sure. But whatever item DOES replace the SMG, I'm using it. Kukri is too valuable to replace with a one-time-use shield or a jar of pee.

The new items are all for fun. I see no improvement out of either of them. The bow and arrow looks hilarious, and the idea of using Duke's nutsack as a pin cushion amuses me to no end, but unless it's going to have range and crit headshots it's pretty worthless. Don't get me wrong, I am going to use it and go all Daniel Day Lewis on your asses, but when the initial silliness wears off, or if you kill me, I am going to get my rifle, and I am going to put you back in your place.
The razorback? Neat idea. Free kill for standing still? I'm ok with that. Problem is it will slow you down which means your ass is so so so dead in a sniper duel. It'll be like shooting a scout coming down off Bonk, only easier. Plus you have to get rid of your kukri? Demomen don't backstab. Have fun trying to noscope him as he blows you up.
Jarate on the other hand looks like it might have a use. Not a huge one, but compared to the SMG it's an effing god send. 35% improved damage? I'm cool with that. The ol' one-two with the jarate kukri seems pretty effective. Putting out allies on fire is neat. The problem is that effing ambassador. You throw pee on the spy, he uncloaks, he shoots you with a cannon. The revolver is already deadly. Buff it? I bet you a dollar that the Ambassador is nerfed to hell within the first week. It is basically a more powerful, faster firing no scope. Which is absolutely stupid.

So does the sniper rifle, and the pistol, and the scatter gun, and the shotgun, and the revolver, and rocket launcher, and every other semi automatic gun in the game.

The question is, how powerful is it, what is the rate of fire. The sniper rifle is the most powerful gun in the game but takes 3+ seconds to charge plus a second to "cock". That's pretty much a 4+ second "cool down" to full power. The question is, seeing as it's going to be a sniper rifle without a scope, is it going to be more powerful than an unscoped sniper rifle? Is it going to have a faster rate of fire? Are spy's going to strafe around sniping people from across the map?

I'm guessing everyone's overhyping it as they did with "Force-A-Nature has a long reload!"

It's not really long, just longer.
A relatively slow firing speed, considerably slower that the standard Revolver, but not so rediculous as to render it unusable.

I'd guess about 1.5 Rocket Shell reloads.
(That's measured in individual shells, not a whole clip.)
