What do you want from the server?

Unread post by Zora »

State your opinion of what you want from the server here. I give up trying to think for you all. I'm doing something wrong. I'll take any ideas into consideration. If you think the server should branch off into co-owners, I'll consider that. If you think I should permanently shut down the server, I'll consider that too. Pick a direction for the server. As long as the majority agrees on it. If you want an economy, I'll put one in. If you want a role playing server, I'll make it a role playing server. If you want the server to feed you candy every other minute, I'll try my best to make it do so. I need some input. Yes the constant map changing was my bad. Its a long mouthful of why I change the map, so I'm not going to explain (I think I've done it before somewhere on the forums) unless under request.

The most important thing I want is consistency. You should make sure that when I want to build, the server will be online so I can connect and that when I build something, it won't just disappear some weeks after.
As for plugins, I think how it is now is great, it's just vanilla plus some anti-griefing protection.

more strict rules against possible griefers (if possible)
less server crashes and rollbacks (if possible)
more mods (also if possible)

Learn that you can't please everyone and stop trying to. and don't change something every time someone complains.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. In fact, this has been the best mc server i've played on in a long while.
But think about it: you're hosting a server for Minecraft, a not-so-popular game, while the same community hosts 2 servers for TF2, a more popular game. People can play this game for hours at a time, all day even, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone play Minecraft all day, unless you're a creative mastermind or unless I have the shortest attention span in the universe.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, you're doing pretty well. It's just that you're being overruled by a greater influence of fun.
