Laser Sentry Kill Icon Mod-Thing

I fiddled with the game files to change my Level 1 Sentry Kill icon to the laser sentry kill icon.
Here's the stuff for it. It goes in the tf/scripts/mod_textures.txt file.
If you already HAVE a mod_textures.txt file inside your tf/scripts folder, then you have to find d_obj_sentrygun and dneg_obj_sentrygun, and change both to have x=391, y=446, width=59, height=32. (Sorry for post length; ALSO lemme know if it works for you)

Using this as a template, you could pretty much change every aspect of the kill notification? (i.e. background color, text color, symbol and so on.

Even perhaps make your own custom one?

You can modify the default mod_textures.txt file to point to any texture, so yes.
You don't need to use THIS as a template.

You use GCFscape (google it) to open up the team fortress 2 content.gcf in the steamapps folder, then mod_textures should be in the tf/scripts folder in it. Extract that and mod it all you want, then put it in the tf/scripts folder in program files/steam/steamapps/yourusername/team fortress 2/
(team fortress 2 might also be orangebox if you got orangebox)

I'm not sure about text color though, nor about the kill panel background. But icons themselves, definitely.
