Pistol Loadout Strategy

Unread post by krubby »

Choosing whether to use the pistol or the winger is all based on your primary weapon. The pistols should be used as a backup for if your primary clip runs out and you don't have time to reload, so you want a weapon that has an opposite clip size from the one you're using. The scattergun is better equipped with the winger because if you run out of ammo for your sg's clip, your opponent will probably be low on health and you'll need to do a lot of damage fast. With the FaN and the soda popper, it's better to have the default pistol equipped with them, because you'll run out of your 2 shots quickly, and can't afford to waste time reloading it, or the winger which would run out of a clip just as fast. Instead you need a longer amount of shooting time. The shortstop shouldn't be used with a pistol ever.

The reasons you give are not good reasons. Explained below.

Unless you suck at aiming. In which case you should play pyro pyros require no aim in order to W+M1.

Use the default pistol. it does more dmg than the winger anyway.

Then use the default scattergun if you want longer shooting time. 6 rounds compared to 2.
Also, it takes about the same time to reload a pistol as it does to reload the FaN.

OBJECTION!!
Unless you suck at aiming. In which case you should play pyro pyros require no aim in order to W+M1.
aiming is irrelevant to this topic
Use the default pistol. it does more dmg than the winger anyway.
the winger will do more damage in 5 shots then the pistol
Then use the default scattergun if you want longer shooting time. 6 rounds compared to 2.
Also, it takes about the same time to reload a pistol as it does to reload the FaN.
This is about which pistol should be used, your talking about which primary should be used.

I completely agree about the shortstop being useless, but didn't is say it because i didn't want to get off topic.

Its funny cause aim is TOTALLY IRRELEVANT in a first person shooter...

i mean that personal skill is irrelevant for how good a weapon is, if they both shoot the same.

I'll be honest with you, I don't think you know how to set up a strategy. At all.

If there's anything that matters, it's player skill. I use all stock weapons(well, lugermorph and holy mackerel count as stock cause they function the same, right? :P) and I'm still able to get LOADS more kills than anyone using a soda popper, FaN, Winger, Crit-a-Cola, Bonk, or one of the much shittier bats. I find it funny how you think someone with a FaN can have a greater advantage than anyone with a scattergun, because the fact is, they don't. If player skill is not relevant to how good a weapon is, then how do you explain my 30+ kills in any average match with stock items?

The whole point of this is saying which pistols it makes most sense to use with each primaries.
By the way, I'm still able to keep my k/d rate equal using just the sandman, which in my opinion is the best scout weapon over all.

Sandman takes second-best Scout support weapon for the sole reason that it can incapacitate enemies for short periods of time. Still second to Bonk, which lets you block choke points, look for potentially dangerous positions, see the enemy defense... In terms of support, Bonk is far better.

Sandman is the fourth best bat which isn't saying much considering that there are only 7 bats with different attributes.

Wait, we're talking about pistols? Stock pistol is better in 99.9% of situations you can possibly think of.
Life is whatever.

Stock Pistol or Lugermorph.

I always use the stock Scattergun, Lugermorph, and Atomizer/Holy Mackeral. Most of the other options seem too situational.
or i'm just bad

The other options are entirely useless in average situations. Bonk is good for holding off sentries while a Demo pipes them. The sandman is good for getting high-priority targets stunned for a couple seconds. They ARE mostly situational, which is why you should only keep them in other load out presets.

Also, no, you aren't bad :P
