From your description it sounds like they were doing this for some time... did you try and contact any of the higher admins during this time to come in the server and use the banhammer? For the most part, I assumed Captain was the only one with banning capability, other than Gypsy, and neither were...

Tip 1: USE THAT DOUBLE JUMP! when having a crit rocket coming toward u in mid flight its a good idea to doge it by jumping away in a different direction! (press space + left right down for wherever its coming from) Tip 2: run and shoot when a pyro is coming towards u to avoid getting burned to death...
